ashleyr 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Hi all, I recently purchased a 2004 Jap import E65 745i. Love the car! I was wondering if anyone can tell me what one thing is though. There is a little LCD display on the interior rear view mirror, top centre above the mirror itself. When I first turn the car on, it says 'NO CARD' and then goes away. I can find no reference to this in the manual. Am I correct in thinking this could be a compass, to do with the Nav? I haven't had the nav converted yet, although I am tempted to drive to Auckland and get it done (it seems no one in Chch can do it) Many thanks. camera doctor 25 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Only a guess, but I would say Toll Card for Toll roads / bridges etc in Japan ?
elmarco 56 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Insert credit card and await contact from the Nigerian royalty? Wonder where you would put the card? Is there a card slot somewhere?
ashleyr 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 (edited) Could be tolls. Love the Nigerian idea though! Nope, can't see anywhere you would put a card. Seemed odd it's in English as well - either it always has been, or it's integrated with iDrive and changed when that did. The card slot is on the right side of the mirror This is ETC (electronic tolling control) unit that integrated with rear view mirror
ashleyr 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2011 Thanks Renming, you are right of course - there is a slot there, I just hadn't looked close enough! Do you happen to know - could this be swapped for one of the mirrors with the integrated remote for garages etc? Thanks.
my_e36 43 Report post Posted July 18, 2011 They are an option in USA, you might be able to find them on eBay. Not sure if they are compatible with your home garage's frequency though. I think it's called "HomeLink".
hotwire 352 Report post Posted July 19, 2011 ^^^^^ Yep, fitted one to my car. A fluke, & a little luck that the garage remote is the same frequency. Did check it before fitted it though:-
