barracuda83 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2011 Hi guys any idea about the situation below - *car struggles to start in short distance start stop situation. *at times all of a sudden the engine will stop just when trying to reverse or coming off reverse gear *car starts first click if it has been left sitting for 4 hours or more; for eg start beautifully first thing in the morning. I think all above is battery related. correct me if im wrong *in case you guys think a new battery is required, any ideas where to get the oem 800cca batteries from ? *also can i just chuck the new battery in or do i need to code the car and the immobilizer and stuff like that ? thanks in advance Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
elmarco 56 Report post Posted August 28, 2011 What do you mean struggles to start? Does it crank OK but not fire? Or does it not crank? I think you need to get it looked at by a BMW specialist - it could be any number of things. Could be battery related, or it could also be a failing starter motor, poor connection to the battery or another electrical gremlin (like the reverse interlock). Not sure if these needed the computer being reset for a new battery or not - that 'function' might have been introduced on the later models. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
