Thinking of buying an E39 M-Sport

Hello again,

I'm thinking of buying a 2002 E39 525i M-Sport, what should I look for engine-wise? When I take it out for a test drive, what should I be observing? The mileage on it is 84k. Thanks in advance.

** Btw, can anyone tell me if this is normal on an E39? Is it suppose to be like that, sticking out?

That is trim missing from underneath the bumper.

My old man went to look at that car - pretty rough for the price if I recall correctly.
