petone 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 Depends hugely on model, options, condition, transmission. What model did you have in mind?
BMW POWER 2 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 Well it all depends.. this 88 E30 & 91 - 92 E36 your talking about could be a M3. Or it could be 316.. theres about 30 thousand dollars difference.. even more. What model are you on about for E30? And also what model are you on about with regards to the E36? richx 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 ok then 1988 320i with no electrics etc and a 1991 e36 318i?
Guest Andrew Report post Posted May 24, 2005 as far as I'm concenered e36 318 from 91 are worthless. But if you want to know the actual values based on red book values then: Based on 150 000 k and "good" condition Wholesale on a 88 auto 320 is $1550 Retail is $2150 (I don't know what kind of dealer would use that retarded markup though) 91 e36 318i auto Wholsale is : $5400 - Retail $ 7700 - I think those values are too high though. richx 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 when did the e30's come down in price so much? how many years ago were they going for 6 -7 (standed 320i?)
Surge 1 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 (edited) I'd pay just under $2k for a good condition 88 320i... Good to see I'm not the only one who feels early E36's cost way to much, especially in correlation with the rest of the world.. Here in NZ there seems to be a huge step in price between the E30's and the 36's.. where elsewhere there would be a smooth transition. Admitably, the E36 definately looks like a newer car.. But why get the early 'tester' E36's prone to countless problems when you can have the best of the E30s I think the E30s fell in price due to everyone realising (depsite thier striking good looks ) how old they really were!
