M3 Cam into 323/325i

Recommended Posts

as topic....

M3 Cam (S50/S52 engine) to go into 323/325i (M50/M52 engine)

Is it possible? If yes, what else is needed to be changed?

While the head is open, should I do the grinds, ports, throutle body, etc... ??

I have read the S50B30(US) cams can be put into a M50B25.

I'd say they would also go into the M52B25's head.

You don't need to take the head off to swap the cams, but if you have a M52B25 (323i) you'll definitely want to swap to the OBD1 (M50) inlet manifold.

Have a read on bimmerforums, there are quite a few guy's running 325 & 328 race cars with those mods.

That's cool, the M50 question is for my friend and M52 is for me.

I definitely am thinking of M50 intake/ODB1 conversion myself, does anyone know what sort of $$ are we looking at? (incl parts & labour)

S50 intake cam on intake side of M50 and m50 intake cam to exhaust side, I would expect a lot of bling$$$ unless you find a second hand one cheap. supposed to produce good gains though, just buy an m3 :thumb:
