rnbluva 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2012 Hi guys please excuse the noobish question but i need an answer for a tyre upgrade currently i have an E36 coupe running 225/45/17 in the fronts and 235/45/17 at the rears the tyres are absolute crap and i want to get them replaced i found 2 tyres with size 235/40/17 for the rears. will this fit and be suitable with the current setup? i will upgrade the fronts once this is done I know from the door sill BMW recommends 235/40/17 all around so im assuming it does but just want to make sure before i spend some $$$ Thanks! zenetti 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2012 What width rims do you currently have? This will determine what tyre size is best for you

E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted January 9, 2012 are you running OE E36 M3 rims?? 7.5" front & 8.5" rear ?? if so, 225/45 front & 245/40 rear are the factory sizes. the 3.0l M3 ran 7.5" all-round with 235/40's. the other E36 OE 17" wheel options (other than the 2 above) were generally 225/45's on 17x8"rims. zenetti 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2012 They will more than likely be an 8.5 so a 235/40/17 on all 4 corners will be your best bet
