Maintenance budget for a 2000 320i

Hi, this is my first post here.. Great forums btw.

Currently we're looking at picking up a early 2000's model E46 (probably a 320i). Most of these cars have 100-150k on the clock.

What would you budget for maintenance + the inevitable replacement parts per year?

Currently on our ageing Legacy we're spending 1-2k a year. I just want to know for comparison purposes before we take the plunge.

And yes, I know this kind of comparison is a bit silly - I just want to know what we're in for
