Etwenty1 45 Report post Posted September 25, 2012 My new e39 (farm boy) has been off the road for 6 months and been used for rounding up stock based on the amount of cowshit in the engine bay (true) needs work for a WOF, most is pretty simple however; The ASC light is also on, not the ABS - appears to be a frayed ASC cable (fingers crossed) but this has not affected the WOF. My indie says he scanned it and got error #38 choke valve. Any experiences fixing ASC? Park Brake - is see this is a common issue/weak point - anyone know the correct proceedure for setting the park brake? Cheers

Handbrake adjustment Thanks, rotor was full of dust like rest of the car. Brake now better but still not great. Passed WOF tho' ASC was fixed by replacement of the bowden cable, $50 from Coomes Johnson. ( hopefully my last visit to the dealer) "There are no serviceable parts in the Vanos Unit......blah blah blah $$$$$$.
