pilotmin 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2013 Up for loan is valve adjustment shim kit (including magnetic pickup tool) and a timing tool (if you want to change the cam sprocket bolt also). I wanted to hire this myself when I was doing this job but couldn't find anyone so ended up paying $$$ to get it from the states. It costed me around $650USD+shipping to buy from the states so you'll first have to deposit $800NZD and once you return the kit within 10 days, I'll return $750NZD. [Any shim that you used needs to be replaced with the new shims - can be bought by the BMW] If you want to purchase the kit, it can be yours for $800NZD; which is lot less than what I've paid for. This is carried out in BMW inspection service II and it'll cost you thousands. And while you're at it, it will be wise to change the sprocket bolt also as some car's had theirs sheared off. I've done it myself and it's not too difficult task. Can guide you through if you face any problems. PM me if interested.
