e30 manual steering rack. uni joint rubber worn

My steering has massive play. My e30 is 1989 and has no power steering.

Theres massive play in the steering and ive located the problem.

The bush thats along the unijoint is worn to bits. And its rivited together.

So do i replace the whole uni joint. Or

Yank that rivit out put the bush in and bolt it .

Any help ?

Been through this and here is how I sorted it. I got another steering column piece that used bolts to hold it together and pulled it apart, measured up spacers (19mm from memory). I then ground the rivets off my steering column, took out worn rubber piece, replaced with previously mentioned alloy spacers, used bolts to put it back together and steering is now as tight as it will ever be.
