Haitoman 110 Report post Posted February 22, 2014 I'm about to start cleaning up the suspension components underneath the M3. There is a big V shaped brace the point of which bolts near the diff with a square plate at the V. The legs of the V face forward and bolt to the sides of the chassis. Does this have a name? and can I safely undo the three bolts and drop it down without something falling on my head?
M3_Power 636 Report post Posted February 23, 2014 Yes you can. Sometimes the centre bolt will snap on that v brace if corroded. The torque setting is really high on that brace however and technically speaking you should replace the bolts as it is a stretched bolt torque + angle. central3 31 Report post Posted February 23, 2014 Good luck - am in the process of some OCD detailing myself - don't be discouraged with the disassembly - unless your car is a rusty UK import its all pretty straight forward
