Intermittent stalling and surging

Hi guys , yet another little niggle and recent. I have a 98 525i, and she has started stalling for no reason , it starts again straight away .... i sometimes feel her cut out , and come back when im moving .

The other night i was stuck in traffic and i noticed the motor was surging ... in park .. just twice , but an rpm increase of about 500-800 , then all good.

Please dont tell me its expensive .... this oxford green money pit owes me .

Probably a Vaccum leak, get it scanned ect
