Multiple light warnings

Recommended Posts

On a longish drive today the OBC came up with check number plate light.

Then came check brake lights followed by high beam, rear fog, side. Pretty much all of them.

Stopping to check I noticed the turn signals are twice the speed like there was a bulb out.

But checking the lights they are all working normally.

I was carrying a full boot I can only think something was pushed against something.

Or a bad earth somewhere.

Anyone got a place to start?

Be interested myself, I've been avoiding/ignoring these ghost messages on my dash since day 1!

E34 eh?

1. Check loom on l/h boot hinge for breaks. Common as hell, both e34s I've owned had this issue. This should take care of rear end related warnings

2. Unplug headlight adjusters. This will fix front end warnings.

roger that. I'm getting brake light and license plate light warnings. They've never failed once though, comes on straight from startup and light switch on.

well I found one numberplate light blub (aftermarket LED) is browning on top so probably got water in it. Will replace and check again.

And we have a winner. Short in the number plate light bulb.
