I recently acquired a 1998 728ia(E 38; 2.8L V-6) and had aproblem with the interior lights not coming on when the car was unlocked with the remote, and also none of the interior lights (except the visor lights can be turned on).Dealer says a module has to be changed. Also, at about the same time the windshield washer pump stopped working. Are these related? Any guesses or help would be appreciated. Also any clues on where I could get manuals? Thanks . Guest Andrew Report post Posted December 19, 2005 Hi - yes they all are controlled by the "General module" most likely under the rear seat (if its anything like an e34) Check the fusable link on the battery that goes to the accesories also. amazon.com for an E38 workshop manual.
