Does any body know if you can fit a 318i m40 flywheel onto an 320i m20 motor, has any body done this ?

im about 90% sure you can but ill check then let u know how come u want to do this?

because i have a 318flywheel and a 320 m20 motor to fit into a car that i am building up for racing.

Baz I may have one you could trade for if you wanted. What condition / age is your fly wheel. I've got a good M20 fly wheel here and I may need to replace clutch at some stage on the 318i before race series.

The flywheel is in good nick and the car it came out of was in good condition , According to the info i have the 318flywheel should work as the dimensions are similar, I am in the process of checking out , if that does not work a trade sounds good ytoo me, are you building a car for the series too.?

they have to be standard un modified engines. As far as i know its a mod using fly wheel for a different sized engine. Your best be would be to give i think his names Colin Briscoe an email or call at BMW NZ in Mt Wellington, he will be able to answer your question. When I rang there they we're very helpful.
