2011 325i Japan e90 Fuel Pressure Issue Please HELP

Recommended Posts

I  purchased a 2011 325i e90 japan import from a dealer Aug 2015.

Car had no problem and drove great for about 1-2 months.

First problem started when engine light randomly showed up while driving, we took it to the garage recommended by the insurance named Kevin Burt

They said we had a "fuel pressure" problem and changed our high pressure pump sensor. They said this would most likely fix problem at 90% rate. I don't think any diagnostics were done at the time.

The problem came back within 2 days. This time Kevin stated he has no equipment to fix this and referred the car to Jeff Gray BMW.

At BMW we had been going in and out, having few more parts changed, again I don't think they were able to  pin point the problem.

As time went by the car started vibrating at idle with misfires, thick black smoke - only during cold start.

At Jeff Gray they suggested we have a "fuel clean out" which fixed problem for about 1 month. It was great during this period, however the same problem came back.

Few parts that were changed since then again including NOX sensor, and few other fuel related pumps and injectors, (i will update as soon as i know the details)

Most recently, took it back again, they said finally they found a problem. When they left the engine overnight one of a fuel injector was leaking. We had this replace, however problem persisted, in fact gotten slightly worse, with little more serious vibration and grey smoke when driving.

Took it back again and they said another fuel injector was leaking and had this changed, again problem persisting.

This time they changed the "low pressure pump."

We got our car back and from day 1 there was problem again. I am very unhappy that they allowed me to take the car home. Ongoing serious vibration, with engine light on.

I used to have faith in these people but is this normal to fiddle with parts like this without proper diagnostic.?

I had now at least 6 or 7parts changed, none of which fixed the problems.

I am unsure if i will be happy go back to Jeff Gray again, please suggest what i need to do. This experience had been extremely costly also time consuming.

14 months in and out of garage 7 parts changed, no problem fixed is a bit too much don't you think?? My car had been in Garage for more than it had been with us over the last 16 months since purchase.

Please recommend me a mechanic that would be able to fix this near Christchurch. I don't mind paying proper bux for a proper fix but I do mind being mucked around like this.
