rolls_on_19 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2006 Was jus thinking bout trying this the other day. Can anyone see an problems with using a setup off a 4age or and sr20? Obviously i would have to get a new intake manifold fabricated but what else would need to be done??? Any help or ideas would be great. And i want to stick with the m42 engine okay

Gus 5 Report post Posted March 22, 2006 badass. ITB's + AFM = The Win
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted March 22, 2006 badass. ITB's + AFM = The Win A HFM/MAF would be better.Prolly still works with the stock ECU and ultra chrisp throttle response. The lack of runner & trumpet lenght looks more of a "mass production" result than a finely tuned solution, prolly still better than stock!! I'd go for some of these bad boy's: http://www.speed-technology.com/efi_throttle.html

conrod 1 Report post Posted March 23, 2006 Dead right about that one Gus, a lot of expense to then go and leave that bloody trap-door bunging up the intake!..........
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted March 23, 2006 Maybe a " :thumb: good-one" would have confirmed the sarcasm You'll prolly find it was a early '90's "bolt-on" deal, back when HFM/MAF's weren't widely used and adding new ECU to an already $$$ kit would have been $$$$$$$$$$$$. And besides BMW saw fit to use the flapper on the E30 M3's why not a M42 :thumb:
