Huttey 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 I have just purchased a 1999 E39 540i - Japanese Import and I am looking for the most effective solution for getting the radio's FM band to cover NZ stations (band expander, replacement radio unit, ????). Has anyone been down this road and found a cost effective solution. Also it has a Mk II Nav system which is in Japanese with maps of Japan, does anyone know if this system be changed/converted to English and if there are maps for NZ. Any help is most appreciated. I have also posted this in Appearance and Audio

my_e36 43 Report post Posted May 9, 2006 (edited) I do recall something about press and hold a button then do something else to switch Jap to other frequencies. I'll see if I can find that again then keep you posted. I wouldn't bother with band expanders, it's just so un-BMW. Edited May 9, 2006 by my_e36
