m_reaney 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2006 My old man has a 97 740i which has blown a fuse 3 times resulting in the same problem each time. When the fuse blows the back doors, windows and boot do not work. The problem is obviously fixed by replacing the fuse, but is there an underlying issue causing this to happen which is not fuse related?
318is 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2006 You most likely have a short somewhere. Not familiar with this model thou. Have a good look around the wiring loom where the door and boot open/close. It may just be pinching a live wire? Try replicating the fault. Use the windows ( all the switches for the rear windows seperatly ), then doors, then boot seperatly. See which one blows the fuse, and go from there. Window motor shorting maybe?...... you get the gist.
