Miller 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2006 Hi, I have a e36 323i and i am wanting to replace my whole exhaust system. i recently had a service and was told that my rear muffler was toast and that i need to replace it. So while im at it i thought i would replace the whole system from the headers back. What size pipe should i use. Also what type of rear muffler should i put back on (eg. straight through or not). Should i also take out my cat? I dont want it to be too loud, but i want to give it a nice rumble. Thanks
bmwsparkle 3 Report post Posted May 18, 2006 a single 2 and 1/4 should be plenty, maybe 2 and a half, take the cat out, a straight through in the middle and a sports muffler at the end. Shouldnt cost much. Go in and see an exhuast shop.
