my_e36 43 Report post Posted July 16, 2006 (edited) Did you mean the light switch? It does light up when the key is in position I or II regardless of the lights are on or not. To remove the switch... 1. Remove the panel below the steering wheel 2. Remove the know (pull it straight out, it helps if you put double-sided celo-tape on the knob) 3.
