ajsmith 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2006 (edited) Hey everyone. Please help me (again) ... I have '92 318i auto. When in reverse, like most autos, my car will make that beep beep beep noise. After installing a new headunit and front speakers (removed cover under steering wheel to run wires through to headunit aswell) the beep beep beep noise randomly decides to come on. It tends to come on when I apply the break (only sometimes) and when I flick my indicator on (everytime). I'm assuming its just a wire somewhere thats been moved. 1) Does this beep beep beep noise need to work in order for me to get a wof? 2) If its not required for a WOF ... is there a simple way of ripping something out so it doesnt work at all? Thoughts are, as always very much appreciated. Thanks (edit due to typo) Edited July 30, 2006 by blak_bmer
SKT174 1 Report post Posted July 31, 2006 No .. doesn't need the beep beep sound for WOF, those beep beep sound in reverse only compulsory in Japan. So all Jap imports will make that sound.

my_e36 43 Report post Posted August 1, 2006 The gong is on the panel right above the padels. Suppose you could just unplug the wires.
