Bleeding M3 Clutch

Recommended Posts

can Anyone help me with bleeding an E36 3 Litre M3 clutch.

I have pumped nearly a litre of fluid through the system and still cant get a pedal.

Is there some secret to bleeding one of these, what am I doing wrong?

Cheers Pete

A Litre? Are you still getting Air in the fluid? Are you sure it's not mechanical? Otherwise check the cylinders [both] & when you bleed it put grease around the bleed screw to stop air sucking back.[most clutches can be bled by gravity]

So the fluid IS going through the system?

How are you bleeding it exactly?

Hi Andrew i have used a vacuum bleeder on the slave cylinder to suck the fluid through and have seen the oil come through into the vacuum bottle, also tried the one man style with a tube off the slave cylinder into a bottle of oil and tried to pump it through with the pedal.

The master cylinder did run out of oil at one stage and let air into the system.

I have bleed heaps of brake and clutch systems previously but this one has me beat so far.

Every thing is happening normal as far as bleeding goes so I dont understand why i dont get a pedal

Pete

Would look at a possible master cylinder issue in that case.

Sounds like your doing it right.
