540i Price Advice

Recommended Posts

Hey Again guys,

Unfortuatley with the end of year approaching and me starting uni next year i will probably have to sell the 540i in December. Just wondering how much you guys think its worth because there seems to be a lot of variation in the e34 price market.

Its a 1994 540i E34

- Silver, No Leather, electic seats

- automatic

- 6 stack cd

- painted bumpers and skirts

- towbar

- lowered and wheel alignment

- near new 18" Breyen Rims + bridgestone rubber

- 4lt V8

Entire car is in all over great condition, has done 225,000km but i have full stack of reciepts and service records. I have pics if you guys are interested but i dont know how to post them up.

Any advice on its value would be great.

thanks

email them to me cain.chapman@draeger.com and I'll post them for you.

No idea on value, less than $12k would be my guess. Kiwi535 is the current guru on the sales of these.

Just sold my 95 740i for $12k, with half the k's and all the goodies, would guess the market for this at about 7 to 8 tops maybe, but it all depends on what someone's willing to pay at the end of the day, and how much you want to sell. Good luck with it.

Hey guys,

540's there are a fair few of them on Trade Me at present, all the higher k ones are sitting around $,6.5 - $8.

They have all been on there for some time, last fully optioned Kiwi one I saw was $8.5 with sport seats full history and 150k on it, that was about two months back, through a mate in Akl.

Jap import with cloth would be about $7.5 flat out I think

Cheers

Grant

Sorry a bit OT, but what is the general opinion on how many k's the m60 - m62 engines will do?

It always surprises me how little E34's sell for in general.

Good luck with the sale.

Took me months to sell my E34 535- got $4K - started at $5200

E34s are such good cars- concur with Bezzel: surprised there's not a greater following for them-

Jap imports= lower prices for most makes (not comparing Jap to BMW just a comment on the general car market)

Started looking at 540's myself- price is anything from 6-10K depending on mileage and extras

225K Km on trademe for a few months= $6K

120-160K Km = $7-9K

163K km car passed in on TM at $3900 reserve was $6500 then went to $5100: reserve $6000

All autos, (rarer) manual IS model= $10-12K

They do seem to take a while to sell <_<

I'd be in the market at $5800 if you wanted to sell now and are in AKL

All the best with selling the car

M60 (v8) is probably similar guise as the M30 ("big six"). E34 m30 lifespan= 400- 500K km (plus?) , you'd

probably expect similar from m60/62
