Mikal 4 Report post Posted October 29, 2006 I was looking at my car today and thaught the bottle caps would look good painted black with a polished lip. Has any one done this before (pictures would be good) and is this worth doing it myself?
nz320i 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2006 yeah man bottle caps are cheap to replace so do it youself! you can get paint at repco, and primer, i guess a light sand, or a decent clean with proper cleaner and spray?
Surge 1 Report post Posted October 29, 2006 (edited) Hey, Here's some on dad's car last winter - just after we did them. Heaps of them spotted around town now Ok attachments don't want to work... Yeah, sand, prime, then use a fine brush to do the 'serated' part of the wheel. Edited October 29, 2006 by Surge
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted October 29, 2006 Poly prep would help but aint neccassary.Just makes paint adhere to anything. A coat of Prep, primer, top coat. Done
jpp 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2006 Don't buy Repco paint, crap mostly. Mitre10 or a paintshop, pay for what you get there. Ensure you primer otherwise will come out poorly, won't stick etc... Let me know how you go, I'll deff. give it a go in the next few weeks!
Mikal 4 Report post Posted October 29, 2006 Cheers for the help. Can this be done with the tires still on or is it best to take them off? I probably won't be doing this just yet. I'll probly do it when i've got the money. How much $ are we talking on paint?

This is a messy job of what it could look like... Edited October 30, 2006 by Mikal
