savvi 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2006 i started my car today and the oil service lights came on then when i went 4 a drive i also noticed that the fuel average needle kept sitting back on the 20L red zone even though i was only cruising at 50k are the two related in anyway, checked all vacum hoses etc in the engine bay
sammaw 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2006 I dont think they are related. The service lights are easily reset. they will light when you get to 7500km. either drive around to A BMW dealer and get them to reset the lights or look up on google which two pins reset them. I have never had an issue with fuel usage meter. could be a vaccum line problem? not sure
gmccormack 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2006 It is not a vaccum problem, there are no vaccum lines connected to any of the gauges. The gauge gets a signal directly from the ECU. The gauge is probably just stuck, give the dash a good thump.
