Cale 36 Report post Posted December 27, 2006 (edited) Hey everyone. Hope you'll had a good christmas. The boot on my E30 4dr does not unlock (or lock) with the rest of the central locking. Was wondering whether this was normal or not? It locks and unlocks the rest of the car by using the boot lock but not the other way around. Hope you understand what I'm saying Cheers Edited December 27, 2006 by Cale
gmccormack 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2006 Yes, the boot should unlock with the central locking, if the boot is fitted with it that is. However central locking was not standard equipment, some cars did not have it at all and others only had it on the doors and not the petrol flap and boot. If it is fitted to your boot and everthing else is working OK then you probably just need a new CL motor on the boot. The CL motors in E30's are prone to failure. hotwire 352 Report post Posted December 27, 2006 The switching for locking/ unlocking of doors from the boot is controlled by a circuit in the boot lock motor itself so in that case it obviously has a motor fitted already. This fault would indicate a faulty actuator within the unit itself. As already said - they do fail. Can supply a replacement if required, PM or 027 6146607 Cheers
