318isCoupe 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 Chances are it goes nuts. I hate to say this, but I would probably drive that.. It's an improvement over the 318iS anyway..
Guest Spargo Report post Posted January 15, 2007 Hahahaha it probably has less power than when it started! Its perfect, i'd rather one with a V12 - I'll see if I can find my pics of the one BMW built.
318isCoupe 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 318 Chrysler V8 = 230hp from factory, so I don't know why you'd swap the 218hp M30 for one.. Unless it's been worked, in which case it could be an easy 300hp.

Guest Ken Report post Posted January 15, 2007 (edited) sounds better, at least it would still have decent engineering & not a boat anchor!!! Amen to that! Is there a car-equivalent of the SPCA? Edited January 15, 2007 by Ken
318isCoupe 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 sounds better, at least it would still have decent engineering & not a boat anchor!!! I dunno, those Chrysler 318's and 360's are fairly decent for 35 year old engines! there's people who built 350hp ones 25 years ago by raising the compression, whacking on twin 4 barrel carbs on a custom manifold, and a decent set of headers & exhaust , still running on factory internals and not changing the servicing at all raking up thousands of miles without any rebuilds. 318isCoupe 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 NOT WRONG!!! I won't disagree, I'd pick a turbo M30 over a worked 318 V8 ANYDAY. Especially if it resided in a 635. Drool.
Docile 64 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 id rather have a BMW engine.. over a transplant engine any day.. just wont seem and feel right
318isCoupe 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2007 After talking with the owner, the engine has dynoed at 332 rwhp.. With that kinda information, it sure gets quite tempting!
