dickhead 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2007 thinkin of locking the diff in my e36. just seeing whether anyone else has done it and whether the clutch and gearbox/transmission holds up alright?
kerrynzl 3 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 If it has the ZF trans it'll hold, so will a stock clutch [if treated right] Drag Racing is brutal on the clutch, Circuit racing is a little bit easier.[if you are locking the diff for a street car, then get some driving lessons first] All road cars have understeer designed into the handling,so when "Joe Public" gets out of shape, he'll hit the brakes! You'll need to do some serious adjustments to the 'Roll-Couple' to engineer the handling to prevent the understeer which is aggravated by a locked rear[the suspension mods cost the same as a LSD]
