TYRES

Recommended Posts

ok, so I need some new tyres:

front - 235/40/18

rear - 265/35/18

Which in your own experience are the:

1. quiested ride

2. best handling, wet and dry

3. longest life

I am considering Pirelli or Goodyear GS

Any thoughts?

I dont want to spend prices like Conti's here - cheaper to buy from USA as I have

1. quiested ride - NOT Conti's, have them right now and boy are they noisy, especially at low speeds, they resonate. They also squeal easily when taking corners at low speeds!

2. best handling, wet and dry - Have heard good things about Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3, Dunlop Direzza are pretty good also, friend had them on his car and said they were great. Personally have had Falken Azenis ST115 which are good. Dnz has Falken FK451 and he likes them!

3. longest life - Not too sure, but in general they shouldn't be too bad. I would think though that good handling/grip may be negatively correlated to tyre life :)

Overall I'd try the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3.

^^ i think what he is trying to say is go the Direzza's.

Thats what ill be sticking on next time round. Running Hankook Ventus ATM.

My tyres are slightly stretched and with the camber on the back this has contributed to the side wall running flat. Never had this problem before. Even with Ling Long's!!

haha we had this discussion with Allan starting a thread a while back!

I highly recommend the Eagle F1's, or Dunlop Sport Maxx. Really personal preference between the 2.

Direzza's are not available in 265/35 only the Sport Maxx.

We specialise in high performance tyres in 17", 18" and 19" tyres. Value for money you can't go past these two. I know other people on here rate Pirelli and Conti etc, but personally can't justify the extra cost for the perceived added performance.

Just my 2 cents worth - cheers

You seem board 3pedals Ha Ha Ha !!. How are those 97's working out.

Entscheidend I have Goodyear eagles F1's on the front of my e39, running 235/45R17 they have done around 5,000ks and are quiet and the handling is good. Was told their is not much in it between the Sport Max and the F1's. Have a chat to Zennetti when you have made up your mind.
