  1. Just putting it out there again guys. Any members seeking to move on a tidy example of an E36 M3?

Further to my confusing post.... I am looking to buy an M3 and was wondering if there are any members wanting to sell theirs too me. Cheers!

  2. Hey guys, I'm rather keen on this car.. bar the rice factor. Is anyone selling the missing parts to complete it?? Thinking the price is reasonable for a 3.2.. can anyone advise me otherwise?

Am changing from an e46 328ci... is there much difference in driving a 3litre to the 3.2?

Much like the difference between a 328 and a 330?

Cheers guys keen to hear your comments.

    Hamish

Hamish, it does look like a good car mate. I was however burnt hard with my last e36 M3. It's previous owner had modified the exhaust which in turn altered the readings the O2 sensorsgave to the OBC which eventually lead to the computer going tits up. The upshot was that it kept dropping cylinders 5 and 6 when cold and under moderate load despite a brand new $2000 exhaust system. Not trying to put you off at all mate, just make sure (as Im sure you will) that the modification to the exhaust has been done PROPERLY. If it's been done well and serviced properly let me know. Might look at it myself LOL.

  3. No worries man, everyone has their own situation and scenario. It will cost you a bit extra to consider my car as it's in Christchurch... flying down to drive it, not knowing any mechanics here etc then driving it up or shipping it... there is a fair bit to consdier. So that will bump up the price a bit more so I fully understand where you are coming from ^_^

Just between me and you, I too am hoping the sale will fall though! It's probably in the best condition it has been since I bought it... full front spray etc is looking B) making me feel so much worse about this sale than I already am.

But yeh, want to move on to other things. As for what... I have a few ideas bubbling in my head at this stage, either E46/E30 M3, nice E39 M540, E34 M5 or E30 series race car (really keen to try the racing thing at some stage).

So yeh, too many options to choose from!

Unfortunately it will mean I have to let my baby go.

Personally, if I was spending 40-50K I would be looking hard at E30 M3s. At least then you know that you wont be taking a MAJOR hit on depreciation, if at all. I love the e46 M3 though. Looks awesome, haven't driven one but Ill bet they rock. If you're keen on racing you can always take your car out on a track open day. That way you can rip around the track, get your jollies out and go home at a safe speed. Motorsport as a hobby is hellishly expensive. I had a mate in rally and he sank tens of thousands into a Toyota Starlet rally car. Never won anything and crashed a few times. Ouch.

  4. Yo Dylan, its Sam, sure you don't want an E30! What colour are you after, 3.0 or 3.2?

Sammy!! Refer CRZARB's M3. That's what Im looking for, only closer to Auckland. Give me a text 021924942 - still driving the 325? I have the next couple of weeks off, keen for a beer

  5. Hi Dylan, sad to hear you sold the beast :(

Considering the condition of my car and the other E36 M3's currently on the market, I think my car is very reasonably priced. Also, it's not like I was not considering offers or anything.

Anyhow, as I have mentioned on here before (and on the trademe listing) the car is nearly sold.

The guy came around to drive the car again today and he loves it, so I don't see the deal going south.

Unless he is pulling my leg... I think I will be on my push bike soon :(.

I was concerned that you might take it the wrong way mate. Your car is stunning and I wanted it when I was looking for my M3 - I just couldn't get down to Christchurch. Good luck with the sale mate, just make sure it goes to a good owner. Let me know if it falls through, I am ever hopefull. Dont worry Nick, Ill give you a drive when I get my next one. LOL

What's next on the cards for you anyway? Maybe a non licence eating 316i? Maybe an Isetta?

  6. Cheers Graham and Nick..

I have looked at length at the M3 in Chch. It really is a stunning example and I would very much like it, but it is in Chch and at the risk of starting another scathing "value" debate much like the e30 M3 forum (shudder) I think $21 is the very very top of the value bracket for a 3.0L. I did end up making a loss on my 95 3.0 M3 and that was about eight months ago. It was similar specs and purchased at $19K. Cheers for the link though!!

PS Dont get me wrong. CZYARB's M3 is Mean.

  7. Hi Bimmersport community

Some of you may remember my Hell Red E36 M3 I sold a few months ago on Trademe. I miss it and am looking for another E36 M3. I think maybe the buyer's market might work in my favour but if anyone knows someone looking to sell theirs or happens to come across a tidy example I would owe you a debt of gratitude for letting me know!

For what its worth I drive an immaculate 2000 Audi S3. Potentially a bartering card?

    Cheers

    Dylan :D

  8. Is there anyone out there with a manual e36 328i coupe?

I'm in the market to buy one in November/December this year... if you're looking to sell please get in touch! I pretty au fait with the going rate for the car I'm looking for, so if you have one...hit me!

    Cheers!!

  9. How did you go about getting a refund from the dealer? Was by way of their goodwill, or did you have to take further action?

$20k should secure you a nice M3. Many have been listed for ages and I'm sure $20k in cash could tempt a few sellers. Even if they are advertised for $25k, don't be scared to make an offer - the worst response you can get is

    "no".

    Hey Jeremy

My M3 developed a misfire on the second day that I owned it. Fortunately I was protected by the consumer's guarantee act. This means that if the product sold is not up to standard the seller must either fix the problem, replace the item or refund the purchase price. This is a luxury only found when you buy from a dealer. It has spent about 4 of the last six weeks either being diagnosed or repaired and despite the last lot of repair work it is still dropping a cylinder at idle. It just goes to show that paying that extra $500 or so from a dealer means less heartache if something goes wrong after the sale!

  10. I have had a bit of bad luck recently

My dream car (Hell red E36 M3) has an engine problem. No easy fix so it's going back to the dealer for a refund. Please help!! Does anyone know of another M3 or 328i manual for sale? I have scoured trademe but I was hoping that someone might know someone!! Cheers!

  11. Let me just say for starters - your car is my dream M3. Its the right colour, year, engine - everything. I would love to buy it but sadly it is just (nad only just) outside my means. Sadly the M3 that I bought about 1 and a half months ago is sick and will be going back to the dealer for a refund on Tuesday. I have an engine misfire that despite $2000 of exhaust work is still present. It drops a cylinder at idle. Very unusual for an M3!?! Mate, if things get desperate give me a call (021924942). I promise that at this stage I wont tyre kick. It's a beautiful car and with the right buyer, it will sell. Very envious of you though :-) Good luck, Dave! - Dylan

  12. Hey guys. So Im approaching the age old topic of lighting upgrades for my e36. I have a '95 M3 with the standard orange indicators front rear and side. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should look at to upgrade? Is trademe a good place to shop? Does anyone know anyone? LOL Any pointers would be great!! Oh BTW, no tacky LED lights or fake 'angel eye' upgrades, eww.

  13. Hey Nick... yeah it is aftermarket work being done but it has been done out of necessity. The muppet that had the car before me put a ... well lets see... not so great exhaust on it Long story. It's getting a very nice new system put on it but the BMW oxygen sensors take a while to come out from Germany. Cant wait to have it back. My Golf courtesy car just isn't the same!

  14. Wow! Cheers guys... what a reception! Yes my car is Helrot. the last of the S50 B30 5 speed models. No traction baby LOL. It's currently getting a bit of exhaust work so photos will have to wait until the end of next week, but they will come!! Can anyone tell me how to find about events? Are they normally posted on the 'home page'?

  15. Hey Bimmersport family!! My name is Dylan and I drive a 1995 M3. I have known about bimmersport for some time but with the addition of my new M3 I can't wait to know everyone online and at events.

Whats my BMW history? I have had an E30 318i manual, an E36 318is manual, an E36 323i motoraport (now owned by Nick P!! (nice car mate)) and now my pride and joy - Red Fury. BMWs have been part of my family for about 7 years - best cars ever!

I dont really know how to use this site very well and I'm keen to take part in a few events. The ANZAC drive looked great! I will post photos of my M3 in the next couple of weeks. Does anyone else out there have one??

Anyway - nice to introduce myself. Hope to meet you all soon!

  16. Hi - Nick is it? My name is Dylan. If your 323iM is DBC564 it used to be mine! Let me know if you want any info on its history or some more pics of it. I have some really good ones that I took when I put it on the market. It was bought by a guy in Thames. Cheers.

  17. Hey guys. Thanks for letting your "home boy" know about the car, It's a pretty "phat" ride. Anyway, as I said, this car is date stamped as German made, Jan 99. Being purchased in England, buyers are more able to specify their options unlike in NZ, 'you will have what there is, thank you very much'. Whilst this car was ordered with only a driver's airbag, it has other trimmings such as glass casings on the headlights, not plastic, protective sprayed underbody for winter driving and of course the manual transmission. You can just feel the build quality is better than the SA built bmers. It really has had it's life predominately in NZ though. You wont be disappointed.

  18. This 1999 e36 M323i has been the most fabulous car I have ever had but the need for station wagon leads me to selling it. This car truly has been its owners baby its entire life.

This BMW will come to you in immaculate condition as it is washed and polished every Saturday.

Dressed in its M3 body kit with Motorsport 17 inch wheels this BMW provides endless grip and style.

With a 2.5L straight 6 and 5 speed manual transmission, open road motoring is a pleasure and on a sunny day you can open the sun roof and let the sun and sound stream in. Digital climate control and air conditioning will keep your senses in check on hot days.

As you would expect your BMW is up to date with safety features - ABS braking, Airbag, side intrusion bars, crumple zones and ASC (Automatic Stability Control). Also has an alarm with immobiliser and remote locking.

This BMW has had every cent spent on it as you will see in its comprehensive service history from Team McMillan BMW, Jerry Clayton BMW and the UK dealership from which it was imported in 2002. It has travelled about 93000miles or about 140km. It has recently finished a full inspection and service from Team McMillan.

Stunning in anthricite, your BMW will come to you beautifully presented, pleasant smelling and will provide you with years of reliable, safe, powerful and stylish motoring.

As much as I love this car, it is time for someone else to enjoy the opportunity to own it.

    Inspections welcome - please call Dylan 021 924 942
