  1. Was crusing today and spotted this facelift e30 that used to cruz around new plymouth many years ago,it was mettalic pink and actually had my old 2litre six in it, and it still goes strong. some dude bought it of an old mate of mine and trashed the s#*t out of it. The new owner bought it of that loser for $1100 with rims and munched kit and is slowly restoring it to how it should be
  2. Yeah bud i have them, they look porno!! The only thing is i had to swap back to factory ones to get compliance (rego had lapsed) because they dont have some stamp on them?? But the complier at 'on road' said they will pass a warrent, you just have to put 100watt high beam lamps in the hi beam light to get more 'forward light' as the black backgrounds dont reflect enough light forward. as for fitting, they bolt straight up and fit perfect. you just have to rewire the factory wiring a little, nothing you cant handle. you can see them on my car at the link below http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index.php?showtopic=9897
  3. Really nice conversion dude, its such a shame you have to sell after just having it all finished!! I hope if some one buys it they will look after it well 4u.
  4. Yeah i have the side skirts for the two door, as the wrecked kit i have is from a two door. but i would have to fully rebuild them to suit, which i will eventually do i guess. No spoiler tho, not a fan of the spoilers on them. the more simple the better! Coilovers are custom. I got some jic's off a '97 toyota camry and they sleve perfictally over the e30 strut. and im running 5000pound springs in them. they ride mint as, better than the evo 4sure. Brake system was a mission, as i was so unsure of what to do. this set up was best for later on when i will use it 4 race and track. Les Hunter from chch built the whole setup from my original pedal box. the tilton boosters were used as they are the shortest out there to miss the strut tower. He grafted the balance bar thru the brakepedal so i have in-cabin adjustable brake bias control to font and rear. there obvioiusly isnt a booster so to create a softer pedal feel he worked out the right pivot point and cylinder size for the 4pots and with the 2 pound line pressure valves it works mint for a street car and is easy to brake, just gotta push harder. Dont expect change from $2500 for the box built complete with the brake and clutch cylinders tho........ un fitted! Hope that helps??
  5. Welcome to nz! Yeah as ollie mentioned i have also undertaken this project. nice call by the way!! Check out my post as it has some good detail pics for ideas. and feel free to ask questions, im happy to help where i can, and im sure the others are to. Darren has been a good source of info for me also. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index.php?showtopic=9897
  6. haha, yeah its a slight overkill for the "family car"...... but she wanted it, and i wasnt gonna say no, thats for sure!!
  7. My wife drives our 2002 evo 7 rs. It has tomei cams and cam gears, apexi power fc with hand controller, kei office platforms, apexi n1 exhaust, trust intake. its pretty bad arse. She is to scared to drive the e30 incase she prangs it.. The seven is the one on the left in the pic.
  8. Ha.... yeah sorry, will never be for sale.. once ive boffed it into a curb or into a fence i will cage it and use it as a club/targa car just for fun
  9. Thanks guys, most appreciated..! Im still a little unsure about the look of the side skirts, as im unsure if they really go with the front and rear bumpers, but i willwait and see what it looks like when i drop the front a little bit. Just happy its going after 5 years of waiting!!
  10. Well im happy to say the e30 has basically been finished. I managed to get it going and presentable for our wedding day. and this is the first cahnce i have had since we have been back to post what i have of it up. The pedal box turned up two weeks out from the wedding so we fabd that in quick smart and got it ready for driving. took it in to get the lines all done, new rear lines and all new front lines from the mastercylinders to the caliperes including braided lines. a few teething probs on start up, like blown fuel pump and couple of dumb things i wont mention and we were running. but a week out from the wedding the turbo blew on the saturday b4....... oh f**kn sh*t may have been heard across the nation at that point, but with the help of my bro in law and steve murch (turbo guy) we replaced the cheap and nasty tawanese special with the real deal garret gt28rs and parted with a few more of the foldings again..... other than that all went pretty good and we had it running late thursday night--morning b4 the wedding on saturday (may 07 this was by the way) Since i have been back from the honeymoon i have got it certed, recomplienced, wof and rego so im all legal.. (unlike the on wedding day) Now im just waiting to buy some cams and injectors and send it to speedtech in wellington to get it tuned asap. and finish putting little things back on it and the interior. We have been driving it in the weekends and its great, needs the tune bad tho, and gets 7-8kms to the litre... so not so good Looking forward to a road trip north to aucks and beyond!!
  11. Yeah i know someone real good to do your cert. just got mine certed week b4 last and all he wanted was my gearbox mount strengthened and it pasted.... with all my mods.... was stoked. As we are in New plymouth, the guy i use for most of my enginnereing stuff gets this guy Neil Fraser down from auckland to do his certs (4-5 at a time) as he is fair but not anal like the other certers down here who hate anything unless it has a v8 in it..... I highly recommend using him as you will have little if no hassle and he respects peoples rides for what they are into!! and his an older dude to which is even more respect!! If you are keen let me know and i get his number for you
  12. Im running no booster, just tilton mastercylinders, one for clutch, one for rear brakes and one for front, with in-cabin bias adjuster. and it will all be mounted engine side of the firewall infront of the driver. All fabricated to the bmw pedal box.I have gone that way to eliminate any chance of heating the brake lines etc and to have lots of room to top mount the turbo and have a good flowing exhaust and waste pipe. You just end up with a stiff pedal, but 'Les Hunter' has allowed for more pedal travel by the piston size and pedal ratio, and line pressure valves, so to create a softer pedal, so heres hoping for that!! As for the air filter, i want one of the apexi ones (red and black) to take one more colour out of the engine bay, may sound a bit gay, but i just want to keep it as clean as possible, as there is enough going on in there. but cheers for the heads up on that 4sure!!
  13. Cheers guys appreciate the comments!! Pics of the engine bay to date, spent the day tyding it up etc, clamping fuel lines, making brackets for leads & catch can, avrc solinoid and vacuum hoses etcetc Oh and a few changes, had to use tilton 'short' master cylinders in the pedalbox to clear the front strut and have opted for the Apexi AVC-R boost controller instead of the trust profec b2 i had plained to buy. Had to pull the platforms apart on thursday to, and extend them by 30mm as i didnt have enuf adjustment upwards to get better ground clearance as it just sat 2 low in the front... (1st time i have ever thought something was too low!!) so after a night of grinding and welding it sits mint now... so they get crack tested monday and back on wheels again!!
  14. Progress pics to date... wedding two weeks tomorrow so got we bit to do 4 it to be sorted. pedal box still hasnt arived but it is on the couriers up from chch and am promised it 1st thing monday morning!! Im confident we we will make it in time!!
  15. Sick bud, your car is pretty phat also, love the fact that it is so black and stealth!! a good clean example of how the e30s should look! you should post some pics to cause people on this would want to see it 4 sure!! Got the sr running yesterday, few little ironing out problems but got it running mint on the factory microtech map. Pedal box turns up wednesday and should have it drivable by the weekend.... heres hoping anyways!! You should see me rolling round in 2 weeks so keep in touch and come check it out then, just too dam busy with work etc at the moment. Cheers 4 the appreciation tho aye!!!

  18. Latest update and pics end of page 5 Hi to you all, it is now time to share my 5 year struggle with you all to enjoy and pick at.. I purchased my 85' E30 320i Auto BMW in May 2002 from a wreckers in auckland in the plan to have a cheap runabout on the road so I could use the rest of the money i had from selling my MR2 turbo to buy a house.. Once the house had eventuated, i proceeded to manuel it, lower it and start to paint it and add the token chrome wheels which were huge at the time (back in the day) But as soon as my mates started drifting i had to have in and imported a drifter from japan and unfortunately the bmw found itself parked on the lawn under covers, half preped for painting..... After the drift fad wore off, i parted out the 180sx and my mate said... 'why dont we put that motor in the bma'... and so the sagger started. Decided to head overseas for two years not long after that decision, so mad rush to get the motor mounted and paint finished in march 2004 and jammed it into storage. I dusted off the cobwebs last year (2006)to carry on with it. Now i have ten weeks to finish it, to usefor our wedding in may, so wish me luck..!! Enough of the bma's life story on with the details... 85 E30 320i four door S13 SR20det conversion with s13 gearbox and 5 puk clutch and short shifter. Custom one peice driveshaft, gearbox mount, 3 inch exhaust with notched subframe. 325i rear trailing arms, axles and discs/rotors. Custom solid mount subframe with camber and toe adjustment with nolathane bushes. E30 LSD!! skids on!! Shortend struts and rear jamex springs. Custom adjustable front coilovers and custom camber plates. 4 pot front wilwood dynalites with custom brackets (thanks to darren, aka SITDWN) Custom cut brake pads. boosterless pedal box with wilwood twin mastercylinders and in cabin adjustable brakebias (should have that back this week hopefully to mount in) I had bolt on spacers to convert from 4x100 to studded 4x114 to use 16x7 and 16x8" 35 offset wheels to clear the front coilovers (this spacer and wheel set up can be for sale) but have canned those in favour of custom built ROH wheels with crazy offsets and in 17x7 and 17x8 (these are below, silver with dish). hense also canning the chromes which are now on my wagon.. These r the old 16's with spacers Microtech LT10 with Dash unit and microtech coils and ignighter. to be wired still. Hybrid GT28RS Ball Bearing Turbo top mounted on SS manifold 32mm external wastegate, plumbed back into custom 3 inch down pipe (nice and legal). Custom 2.5 inch intercooler piping and front mount intercooler, blitz bov, small pod filter. Aftermarket bmw bodykit (sorry dont know what sort) fixed and modified to my liking, yet to be painted. Sideskirts. Bear metal respray (due to old paint crazy cracking) with 7 layers. sorry will not devolge colour, haha Aftermarket black backing halo headlights and soon to have smoked out rears and indicator set. Surge tank with bmw low pressure pump to feed tank and airtek 500cc pump to feed rail. Sard fuel pressure regulator and braided fuel lines, front and rear anodized fuel filters New power steering, oil and water feed lines all with lots of anodized fittings.. dam sexy stuff Chrome radiator, power steering, and oil catch tanks. 14inch electric fan onto sr20det radiator. Rear strut brace, battery in boot and kill switch. WRX seats and momo steering wheel Changed the door cards to black (were tan, interior pretty standard for now) Im sure there is other stuff but cant think of anything more, like new fuel tank, and other bits that were f..k.d up from the previuos bmw killer. Running out of money.... help!! haha Donor car

Nah im sorry to disapoint you both. My bma has been in the build for almost 5 years now, (spent 2 in storage while i was overseas) It was painted and had motor transplant 3 years ago. Kit was rebuilt this year tho, but have never seen that photo u posted, just knew what i wanted. This project has gone on for too long hence why i am going all out now to finish it. But i have to admit when i saw ipleza's one on here a while ago, i was very hesatant to post pics of mine cause i knew people would say it was a copy, but no. The car has had many transformations over the years.......... started off gold auto, then manueled it, paint, lowering, then pulled sr20 out of the drifter and its all snowballed from there.. have pics from ages ago but will have to scan them. these picas are from 11 march 04 from when it went into storage after paint. But i will put it all on another post sometime soon as this is darrens post for his car and not mine.. sorry darren!!
