So after finally sorting the starter motor (2 i got were the wrong kind..) I immediately wanted to go for a few drives, a couple of russian lads who were handy with their cameras was the perfect excuse to go up the hills. If you've red this far you're wasting your time, just look at the pics, couldnt decide on my favourite ones so posted about 15 Imminent explosion! RAWRRRR

Finally sorted and after that frustration the beast is back on the road, i cant believe the two starters i got (i asked for m20 on both) ended up being something else lol Cheers for the input ;D Next on the list is figuring out how to make a lsd have more lockup without paying the diff man excessive amounts of $$

Ok so I just did the logical thing and looked up the part numbers just to make myself look like an ass, the one I bought that is too fat to fit is m30, the other one that got sent from welly is m40 just my luck haha!
-
so my temp solution didnt work too well.. Alright so thought itd be easier to show you with pics, one is the starter that ran in the car, the other is the m20 starter i got sent, as you can see the other 9tooth m20 starter doesnt bind with the ring on the flywheel??? m20 starter 10 tooth original running the car
-
yup got one of those sent down but it wont engage (checked engaging without it bolting up tried this also with no success, for some reason the starter with the bigger teeth wont engage which leaves me stumped.. is the ringgear on a e36 flywheel slightly smaller in diameter than a m20 therefore starter starter sitting closer on the gearbox?? just got it turning over with original starter i had with the 10 smaller teeth and bolted the solonoid from another one on, too much rain now to finish though so ill have to report back later.

Hey guys ive run into a bit of strife, when my flywheel broke the stretched ringring gear attacked my starter motor, in the process of getting a new one I have run into the following problems, (m20 flywheel, m50, e36 zf 5sp box) starter motor 1 too big and chunky and hits the m50 block so wont go in. starter motor 2 right size but wont engage the flywheel Running m20 flywheel and i noticed the one i had in there originally had smaller teeth and 10 of them, the 2 ive got to try make work have 9 slightly chunkier teeth. Original is 10teeth Marelli E70R14/12 63223433 Any ideas anyone?! looks like this (found on ebay) http://i.ebayimg.com/16/%21B8Dl%218%21Bmk%...21%7E%7E_12.JPG

Hey just picked up a m20 starter but its much bigger than the one thats in there and wont fit against my m50 block, need one of the smaller ones please ;D 027 3111 976 Cheers Linden

Willing to let this go at a discount price, remember its worth more due to the fact its the prototype for my limited run of these, yup sure do, wound them down before cutting the door didnt pay attention was having too much fun with the grinder, if i give it a serious go on a a real one i'l weld some support bars etc in first before cutting anything and actually plan it instead of picking up the grinder lol! to be honest im stoked at how good it looks aye makes me want to get straight onto building one!

Well I had a couple of cutting disks just sitting there and while looking at the e30 I thought Ive always kind of fancied having a ute.. So i set to work, 15 minutes later I had the roof off and the top part of the door, unfortunately I didnt have enough disks to completely cut out the back of the rear seat (its barely held in but my disk exploded). The new ute didnt look quite right sitting there without wheels so on went some 17's, a perfect amount of camber later and here is the result!

Thought it would be better to ask than assume.. Someone wants to buy my front sway badr for a preFL, realoem shows some as 18.5mm and some as 20mm, im guessing the FL bar is the same shape should fit his preFL if i provide him mounts?? Cheers Linden

Hey guys I have a nice beautiful split in my flywheel, it may look nice but it does nothing for performance so im looking for a replacement, preferably in chch as shipping would just add to the cost but open to options. Also how much am I looking to pay for one? Cheers Linden

It had this before I had the car and the headunit was wired in, found my multimeter but the cords and prongs are stuffed so ill be going to get a new one!
