Bought my first bimmer over 20 years ago, an E30 325i. Owned it for 9 years, chucked it around the track a few times and improved it's wayward rear end by putting Schnitzer springs all round. Also put in a Alpina copied exhaust that emphasised the peaky torque of the 2.5L 6. It had a special sound.

I have always wanted a 5 series. So picked up a low K's import 2001 E39 530i M-Sport. I have to say I am very pleased. The perfect combination of comfort and handling with enough power for the job. Does an excellent job of towing my RX-7 race car.
