    Tyres

Oh thanks for the PM zenetti, I went to tyre master in faster cove, and got some kinforest KF660 tyres from them $100ea. Honestly the car looks a lot better and the ride feels pretty smooth and doesn't have too bad of grip, happy with them. Also thanks for the lock nuts and wheels zenetti I don't think I could have made a better choice bbs styled is so slick on e30s.

    Tyres

I'm located in Tauranga going to go have a shop around today the lowest price I got after that was $129 each fitted, I'm not to fussed about fitting because I can do it at polytech, and I don't see the point going to a local shop just to get another pair of Chinese tyres when i can save $116 getting another pair of tires.

    Tyres

So i need some new tyres for my new shinny wheels, basically I'm a student and don't have much money to spend on tyres, have just recently done a wheel alignment on my e30 and its been lowered so the camber is out a lot but even on both sides so there would be no real point spending a large amount of money on tyres, ATM the tyres on the car are shocking, like shouldn't be driven shocking... so anything is going to be better. I'm looking at some 205/40/17s kinforest KF660 they'll cost me about $100 each, bad points are they made in china however they have history with Firestone and Continental ( http://www.tyrepress.com/News/1/17029.html ) they also have a DOT rating. Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with the brand and could offer any feed back or point me in the direction of a more suitable low price tyre. Thanks

    K&N Air Filter

yeah ofc shield > no shield but OEM box with K&N panel filter is just lower hp/TQ then pod filter unshielded also i would be guessing that the bonnet would be up because the bonnet is normally opened for dyno runs could always go down to super cheap auto buy a K&N pod and try it vs panel K&N then return what ever one you disliked Anyway personally I'm going to add a pod filter to my m20 because i know that its going to at least be better then the dirty one I've got in there atm and might make a shield up when i get the time. But all to there own do some research i think i found most of the info on e30zone

    K&N Air Filter

i did a bit of research and i saw that they gained about 6-8hp also gained some TQ with a k&n pod filter unshielded, more then the k&n panel filter. This was done on a m20 in the uk with dyno proof
  12. Did a search and i found a few tests that people have done in the UK with dynos and different types of filters on the m20s, It seems they make more HP/TQ with a unshielded K&N pod filter, then they do with a K&N panel replacment or the factory filter. So most likely going to add a K&N pod filter when ive finshed my other projects on the car lol Today i tryed fixing the odometer, and fuel gauge. Fuel gauge was easy but when i did odometer i found that the new clusters odometer gear had broke so i replaced with my old odometer (known to work) to then find out that the speedo pin snapped off with the needle, so i installed my old speedo that was "broken" used the new computer board and the speedo works but the odometer still wont work and the gears all work and everything just when im driving it wont turn over. The new board connected to the speedo unit looks to be damaged with cryogenic but seems to still work, my old board also looks a lot different, dunno if it matters one speedo was MPH and one was KM/h. I know the gears are working because it was working on the old cluster but had to change it because the speedo was only working about 5% of the time, now it works 100% but dunno if the board had a bad connection so thinking about trying it again.
  13. was thinking about putting the pod filter behind the head light because there looks to be a lot of room and a lot of air flow there, then either making a shield out of fiberglass or metal. But was just wondering if there is any real gain that i will get?
  14. yeah its the sensor should i check with a multimeter? anyone got specs what it should be? i hope its not the wiring it looks very thin, and i don't wana play with looms :x
  15. Haha nice i took it because its easy to remember and Richard was taken ^^
  16. Hey, I have just brought a e30 323i (First bmw) and its fully stock as far as i know, was just wondering if i added a K&N pod filter to the air intake will it increase power? would i need a heat shield or anything? or is it just a waste of time and money for the benefits gained? Also had to change the cluster because the speedo wouldn't work, and now the oil service light says on, and the engine check light is on. I was thinking about doing the paper clip trick to reset the service light, and apparently the last owner of the car said that the coolant sensor was broken (The light by the rear vision mirror also says its bad), would this be effecting the engine check light? Thanks
