  1. Good day all, I'm just trying to confirm if the M50 2.0 non-vanos engines have a knock/ping sensor or anything that will do/process engine knocking for the ECU. Thank you all, Dom

  3. I did a 140 km drive today..on shutting down..the rear left side bumper booth flooring/spare tire..was hot from the tail pipe silencer... What could be wrong ?? Thanks Dom

  5. Hi Did the MODIC check with the diagnostic thingy today... FAULT code 42 - Mass Air Meter - Fault.. So guess it's that then..time to change the MAF.. >>> what difference will i see when i change it ?? Accelaration ? Idling ? Others ?? Cheers Dom
  6. My engine is an M50 2.0...non vanos..it's a 91 imported from the UK... and YES..very interested with mods..especially getting rid of the Dual mass Flywheel...appreciate and tips. Cheers Dom
  7. OK..interesting... have cleaned out the T/Body..ISCV...about a week ago...still no change...Vacumm leaks maybe..still sorting out thru the usual places.. Ahh..where's the coolant sensor located - is that the unit in the airbox ?? Thermostat engine temp sensor..hmm.. Ok will check those out as well.. Thanks Dom
  8. HI Andy.. mine is a 1991 model with a M50 engine.I think it's a GETRAG..but not sure which one... IS there a plate on the box to indenfity ? Cheers Dom

I have this problem..with my car when sometimes the throttle is depressed it seems that the 'signal' is not going thru and there's a hesitation..so will need to rev it up and then release the clutch to get going. I also got the problem with the 'bouncing' idling..sometime after running a while and shut down and start up later (when still hot) The rpm jump up and down and in some cases the engine stalls.IF i apply some pedal to 'even' out..then it's ok. BUT on shuttin off the A/c and idling becomes like a broken exhaust..(boop bup bup etc)... Thought it was the MAF..swapped a buddies one..and had the same problem. I"Ve been told to check oxy sensor,crank , cam or throttle switch (TPS ). Any with advice tips..greatly appreciated. Cheers Dom
  10. Hi all... as mentioned on my other post..it's fantastic...you folks rock !!! I'm new to the BMW world..i know a little..and am learning more daily..with my car...I got my 520 / E34 one month today... I'm tyring to assertain the type/model of my g/box...can anyone help me identify this ? Any if anyone here has the same model..and done any mods..upgrades etc..please share your tips/advice.
