  1. yeah i was thinking something along the lines of satin black, or high gloss black??? i'm unsure, thanks for the link btw, there's a photo or 2 on that link of my car actually lol,
  2. oh and please feel free to voice opinions here, i know everyone has an opinion about the colour fiji green which isn't what i'm wanting to hear.... majority hate it, wow, im over it please don't tell me it anymore, but... on the over hand i would like to start a little poll or tally of votes on a good colour to paint the rims, and whether to go powdercoated or painted. If you want to preview the rims google image "style 32 rims" Opinions Please!!!!
  3. rookie mistake sorry, i'm in auckland but travel to chch occasionally so either locations
  4. ok so i have most of my car back into good shape after sorting some rear suspension issues... but i am now getting down to the nitty gritty parts. does anyone know of a good place that replaces the clear protective strips on the front of your bonnets to prevent stone chips, (at a good cost), mine has some what dulled and looks ll scratched and has what looks to be mildew under it.... i hope the paints fine?? And also anyone recommend a place that blasts and paints rims... mine are beginning to show their age as the clear coat/paint on them is flaking off.....
  5. I've gotta say, A big thanks to Anton and the Boys at BM Workshop. after alot of discussions and looking around the car, my suspension issue has been sorted. The best service i have actually ever experienced so far with getting work done on any of my cars.... and funny enough it was in Auckland... Who would have guessed?
  6. yeah last time i did the trip i turned right at ngaruwahia and took the road through to national park, and went straight through to wanganui, wasnt a bad route really enjoyed the twists and turns prior to wanganui too, got the tyres pretty warm The king country, are you meaning take state highway 3 through to new plymouth and down, i'm thinking i might do that route on the way back up if it's a scenic one as it will be day time, we want some nice scenery
  7. thanks mate much appreciated
  8. Ok so My Misses and I are doing a Road trip from Auckland to Palmerston North next week, and i am just starting to think about the best route to take.... is anyone out there able to give me a heads up on the road conditions between point A and B with warnings like road works etc? Last time i did this trip at night I collected a nice pot hole in amongst some not so well signed road works. It was 12pm and speed was a little factor though but a heads up on where road works are this time would be ideal!!!
  9. LOL yea i know I have kept my original headlights in a box in my room, someday they will go back on... just in the mean time i was kinda over looking at the stock headlights, i was wanting angel eyes but EVERY man and his dog has them on there car. When i get sick of these... or annoyed of everyone hassling me about them i will change them back.... haha oh yeah and about the swap... i'll think about it, my mrs wouldnt be pleased though
  10. yeah i just dont like the standard headlights that much... if they were the angel eyes style then yeah i would have kept them, but the originals this had just dont cut it for me.... I know these ones are a different style for a BMW to have, but it's just a matter of opinion really to who likes them or not, I know allot of people wont, a small amount will, it's just like the paint job really, allot dislike it more than like it.
  11. I bought KU31's over a year ago, best tyres i have had in a while, awesome decision!
  12. all i know buddy is that the car was original when i purchased it, the previous owner gave me all the receipts of everything she or her husband spent money on, on this car... and that didnt include no new rims... researching the matter some bmw sites do say that the Motorsport pack can come with staggered 7x17 and 8x18 rims as optional, i'm guessing however that the fault does lie with what you said earlier, IT IS THE PROFILE of the tyre. they should be 40's not 45's. Problem solved.... I hope
  13. I like it the more i look at it man.... many people dont believe me when i tell 'em that it's factory paint job, the only things that are not stock standard on this car anymore are my headlights and now the window tints, (I've kept the original lights though as for someday i may refit them)
  14. oh mate!! here i was clicking on add image.... then getting rather P#ssed when it kept asking me for a URL... lol Here's a couple of snaps i took recently
  15. haha now thats funny as.... caught red handed in the act... i cant get away with anything in this car... maybe the color is TOO noticeable
  16. oh btw in case you were thinking, i bought it in chch before i moved up north.... so anyone in auckland will see it in the Waitakere area very often
  17. well this may be a little late to add to, plus it was a really interesting find... but this is My car... made a change or two since buying it like the headlights, and now tints.... soon getting the rims touched up and painted black.... many people voice there opinions over the paint color, at first when i saw it i wasnt too much of a fan... but now i love it it's taken a year or two to grow on me though, haha,
  18. i dont like the fact you can max out the XP points before you're even 40% through the game....
  19. lol, no, no guard roll was necessary.... i wish i knew how to put pictures on here in a gallery to show you's.
  20. The rims are E36 OE so judging by what you have put the tyres which were on the car originally when bought were incorrect... thanks for the help

    1996 318is

I think you may be wrong there bud, I have a 318is which is the 4 door sedan version
  22. Hey there Johno, The cars actually the E36 model, and if you were right about the tyre being too tall it still brings to question regards one side sitting lower in the rear, and if you jack the rear up, when you lower it on the ground it will sit evenly and higher for a while, then slower over time sag back to normal....
  23. not off the top of my head no... i will try and find out and get back to you on that one, but still if it was the size of tyre why would one side be sitting up in the wheel arch when the other side you can see the top of clearly... i will take some photo's this weekend to show you what i mean.
