  1. Hey all, Just been flipping through a 'Perfomance BMW' mag and noticed an article for a DIY kit for cracked / discoloured leather www.dynamixdyes.com Has any one heard of it? Any feedback good or bad welcome... Thanks Pam
  2. Firstly Happy New Year! As you may or may not be aware I am in the UK and I have kept my purple beast back home, unfortunately I will not be home for at least another 18 months and have made the decision to sell her; it is not a matter of needing more money, but because I don't want to see a great car waste away sitting still for so long when someone could be having some good times! She spent a few days at the paintshop having the key marks taken out and having a mechanic as a father means she is mechanically perfect. A few extra things: she has electric leather sports seats, CD stacker, sunroof, 17" mags, M3 body kit and wing mirrors and of course will be sold with a current registration and WOF. Basically, I'm offering it at $11k to Bimmersporters (as I'd prefer she went to a good home) and in a week or so will advertise her on Trade Me at a higher price. Should you be interested or someone you know is interested yet can not come up with the money for a month, please let me know and I will not put her on TM with a gentlemans agreement, as I said it is not about money, I would be happier knowing she is getting loved and used to her full potential :-) Should you have any further questions or are genuinely interested, please contact me: pamela.holmes@gmail.com
  3. As you may or may not know, I'm in London! And am now planning on being here a further 18-24 months. While I love my car and would love her to be waiting for me when I get back, it seems a little silly... Dunno exactly what people wanna know, here's a few things... 1996 BMW 328i manual Daytona Violet - deep purple Black leather, electric sports seats Approx 180-190,000kms?! 17" mags Sunroof 6CD stacker/radio She's mechanically mint (my father is a mechanic - Ernst from Bavraian Motors - and boyfriend may as well be also) She goes like a rocket, doing a nice 15 down the quarter! I'm unsure about WOF and Rego dates, but of course she'll be sold with both of these current. I'm also unsure of the Kms - were 185,000-ish when I left, will update as soon as possible. When I left she was going into the paint shop to get the whole left side repainted after someone decided to key her, so now she is all glam again. Sorry for the lack of pics (most people know her) and I will get more soon. Regarding price - I have no idea! I went on Trade Me, searching '328 manual coupes' and not a single one came up, so offers are welcome... Email me on pamela.holmes@gmail.co.nz if you require any further info...
  4. Oh no, why? I love her! Why are all the good cars for sale while I am out of the country!? Can you give a rough idea as to what you want or are advertising her for? Thanks
  5. Since being in London I am always picking up something to read on the Underground in the morning, usually its a boring read about celebs and other news regurgitated from the following evening, but this morning i picked up the "Shortlist" and read this article... I enjoyed the rest of this mag, with 'the 10 best stunts that somehow didnt end in a bloody death', a big Lewis Hamilton write-up, hobbies that made people millionaires, the '10 robberies that read like film scripts', new gadgets, the best SLR cameras and this website address: http://www.flicklife.com/1339c0d05ec3cab0f...Looks_Like.html Enjoy! 6. 1. Porsche Carrera GT - Mark Webber The Australian racer drives Porsche’s fastest ever streetcar when he’s not cruising the world on the F1 tour. Interestingly The V10 engine was actually built for the Arrows F1 car, but the team went bust so Porsche put it to use in here instead. How much slower is it than an F1 car? 5mph 2. Audi RS6 - Nico Rosberg Nico Rosberg The Audi RS6 looks like a company car but drives like a Porsche 911 that’s been stung by a wasp. With a 4.2l V8 engine that’s been tuned by Cosworth Technologies, it’s no surprise that Jeremy Clarkson once roared, ‘I think this is my favourite car… ever.’ How much slower is it than an F1 car? 36mph 3. Honda NSX - Jenson Button Honda’s ‘experimental’ supercar looks as 1980s as Lionel Ritchie’s hair, and has rapidly become a bit of a cult classic, particularly amongst car modifiers. The chassis was designed by Ayrton Senna, so no real surprise that Button loves it. How much slower is it than an F1 car? 9mph 4. Maserati Quattroporte - Felipe Massa More popular than even baby Bentleys in Premier League carparks, the Maserati Quattroporte is also popular amongst F1 drivers. Even those like Massa, who drive for Ferrari and could probably get an Enzo on staff discount. How much slower is it than an F1 car? 39mph 5. Fiat 500 - Michael Schumacher Despite Fiat producing the “Fiat Schumacher†(a foul twist on what we call the Fiat Stilo) throughout Europe, Schuey prefers to motor in the tiny 1948 classic. Jarno Trulli also drives one of these mass produced bubble cars. How much slower is it than an F1 car? 150mph 6. Mercedes McLaren SLR 722 - Fernando Alonso The Spanish champion was gifted the McLaren 5.5l V8 supercar by his team having brought home the championship two years in a row. Rumour has it they still have the receipt and might exchange it for some new wheels for Hamilton some time soon. How much slower is it than an F1 car? 1mph 7. Mercedes 280SE - David Coulthard The square faced Scotsman has the most stylish car on this list by a country mile. Not only is the 1971 280SE one of Mercedes Benz’s finest ever machines, this one rolled out of the German factory the week David was born. Now that is class. How much slower is it than an F1 car? About 120mph 8. Brabus Smart Roadster - Lewis Hamilton A Smart car might seem a bit of a disappointment for the driveway of Britain’s fastest man, but this isn’t your usual Smart car. Only 50 of these exist, and that’s because when you put a V6 engine in a plastic car, mad things happen. How much slower is it than an F1 car? 70mph 9. VW Beetle convertible - Nick Heidfeld The self-proclaimed “Quick Nick†slows things down off the track, to drive in the much more laid back style of a VW Beetle. Controversial considering his team (BMW) produce the Beetle’s biggest rival, and Montoya’s favourite, The Mini. How much slower is it than an F1 car? 80mph 10. Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL - Nelson Piquet Also favoured by John F. Kennedy and Frank Sinatra. The three-times Formula 1 champion enjoyed this car so much that he incurred a driving ban in his hometown of Brasilia, Brazil, and was forced to attend driving lessons. How much slower is it than an F1 car? 70mph
  7. As Gus said brakes = life The WOF people look at those "hair line fractures" and think its 6 months before they may get looked at again (when you get your next WOF) by then they would have perished more...dont be stingey when it comes to brakes! Take Ray up on his offer or call around a few aftermarket car parts places in your area
  8. Good point, check there isnt any excess fluid around the hoses - if there is, clean and dry it up and take it back for a re-check, also the hoses may not look cracked at first glance, bend them and then you will have a clearer idea. I know your not in Auckland, but give Euro Italian a call 09 444 9817 (if you dont trust BNT) or 'Trade Parts' 09 444 0901 - either should be able to courier them down to ya Aftermarket hoses are fine and are around $30 each, but there really isnt much point getting second hand ones...
  9. This is true, when you put new batteries in the key it needs to be 'coded' to the vehicle again, it takes 5 secs by a BMW expert or BMW mechanic (not necessarily a Dealer)... If your lucky they may not charge you - its too much hassle doing an invoice that will take longer than the actual job does! Again, this is if the key and car have keyless entry...

Pictures may help, she looks good and people that havent seen her dont know that...
  11. And to top it all off, the crazy Americans decide to give him a TV show: Chris Crocker went nuts on YouTube following the Britney Spears debacle at the Video Music Awards, and 8 million people watched. Now reality television producer 44 Blue Productions has contracted with Crocker on a development deal, only the latest example of the power of YouTube to create instant celebrity. The show will be a docusoap in the vein of MTV’s The Hills and Laguna Beach, and will follow the 19-year-old Crocker's life in Tennesse, where he lives with his grandparents. “Chris first got on our radar a year ago,†said 44 Blue co-founder Rasha Drachkovitch. Crocker had been a web hit before the tear-filled Britney rant, having produced many popular videos on MySpace. "It's going to pretty much be the 'Chris Crocker experience,'" Drachkovitch said. "We consider him a rebel character that people will find interesting. He's going to be a TV star."
  12. WOW! She is gorgeous! I believe its worth the coin and worth the wait! I am very jealous! After owning my purple 3 for a while (I didnt like the colour at first) and also wanting an 8 series for years, your car is just dreamy to me! Have fun, I look forward to seeing it in the flesh when I'm back in NZ...
  13. Congrats on the car! I am jealous :-) She is beautiful, probably one of the best 328im's I've been in to date Did J leave the sounds in it?
  14. Happy belated birthday Jock! Puka Park is wicked! You'll have a great time... Take care Oh and can you do me a favor and write that blinkin car off? Its the only thing Gus talks about! Hehe!
  15. HOT! I think I'd be happy to own almost any of them Thanks for the pics...
