subsequently, changing your car to be more low and mid ranged torquey, you lose top high speeds my 1st gear ratio used to red line at 70 km/h , now with retune its like 55 km/h 2nd gear redline at 120 before tune, now with retune 100km/h power lost at high top speeds per gear ratio. at the expenses of more power at low revs. chiptuning explainned to me... why not have a fast accelerating car, with torque than highest speeds when the highest speed limit is only 100 km/h legally on the roads. (besides on tracks) its a hard choice. people think before you retune. acceleration vs top speed

my car standard is 193 hp. before the tunechip was done. the car was great. after it was done.. it was a new monster. if the tunechip did not work.. then where does this new torque and power come from? usually my standard bmw power kicks in like 3000revs.. now.. as soon as i tap the accelerator, the power is there... easily move the car on 1000revs but then again.. i am 328ci . also... the rev speedo does not stop at 6400 anymore... its been remapped to 7200rev.. just off the speedo rev counter. (as the tuner said, the engine should start halting when the gears reached its max rev in that gear, and we got it up pass 7000revs. where as before the tune.. 6400.. and the car just halters. wanting to change up a gear. believe me. i put off this tunechipping. thinking its a waste of money, get headers or exhaust system. but.. i must say.. its pretty much worth it. but then.. i think you need a power bmw car, like over 2.2 litres to appreciate the difference in power. a 2 litre bmw might just have a little speed boost at lower revs thats all. >.<

i went to chiptuning www.chiptuning.co.nz (he was cheaper than superchips) then there is also www.superchips.co.nz check out the sites. if you want to know the power.. how about you drive their ... standard cars vs tuned. (if you can not feel the changes in torque + hp difference, i guess you are a hard person to please)

you can feel the horse power.. when you are at 4000revs .. and you get pushed back in your seat. its retuning your chip. more torque. i know you want technical graphics.. then you should look at www.superchips.co.nz. he has graphs. i already know there is huge power gains.. and usually the vanos kicks in at 4000 and its just a little bit better. but now.. its like.. you can feel the g's. (really this tunechipping is just more low and mid range torque to support the vanos that kicks in pass 4000revs.... which just really means.. quicker to 100 km/h)

just tune chipped my ride (gains 12hp + more low end torque) (my ride: 1999, e46, 328ci, manual) omg ............ SHOCKing ... the power... more low end torque, i was shaking from the power unleased from the reserve engine. before i would redline at 6400revs.... now its 7200revs redline before the engine shudders. (off the rev counter) chiptuning rules. breathe taking. and to think you saving a little bit more on petrol too. go tunechipping.!!!!

pre facelift, is this e46 before year 2002? or 2000 i have a 1999 e46, so i guess this definitely the facelift, as most of the e46 came out in the 1999 seasons

hi guys i read on an american bmw forum that the e46 m3 bonnet will fit on a e46 coupe is this true? i really like the m3 e46 bonnet and thinking of changing and putting it on my e46 coupe.

well, i want to get some remus exhaust and mufflers, i just wondering if this is ok for supercharging, as i do not want to spend money on remus if it can not take the supercharging i will do in the future.i thought that with so much power, certain upgrades in mufflers and stuff would be needed so i am wondering if remus can take this power of supercharging.

hi guys, i took off my oem bmw muffler and want a aftermarket looking one, but i still want it silent. does remus have any aftermarket silent mufflers with the twin tips? i changed my muffler to a boy racer loud muffler, and apparently i do not like it >.< i went on some long distance trips and traveling at 100km/h the car just sounds like reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee , but the car is not that loud, so i want a silent rumus looking twin muffler, anyone know of any, the website? or the dealer in auckland? thanks djbasildogz

Hi beemer fans i want to know alternatives to increase my power in my car, i do not want supercharge or turbo charge..... so what other things can i do to my car besides tune chipping? i have heard something about changing fuel injectors?> what do they do? what else can i change??? i suppose i want to change parts on the car to performance ones rather than slap on turbos and superchargers for now. try to get the most out of my NA car firstly anyways.. hope to hear from you informed performance dudes. cheers

I have a little story to share with you, the other night , as i am a young male, i was meeting my mates for a few games of computer internet cafe battlefield to be exact. I arrived at the location and my friend yelled out to me, i also noticed an old man standing on the corner of the block not too far from the net cafe (approximately 10 metres away). i Slowed my car , u turned it , and made my car slow beside my mates, my mates pointed out a carparking across the road, so i zoom off in 1st gear 10 metres into a 2 road intersection and u turned (12.30am just after mid night) and the old man started to get angry and chase me, just i did not realised until i did the u turn and parallel park my bmw. my mates said the old man was very angry and was taking down my plate number. so i suppose... first of all... he was a hater of bmw's , or he did not like young men driving bmws or something else, in my friends point of view they say that the old man was chasing at one point as i passed him on the corner to u turn on the dead night no cars no people just him on corner, WOW , i suppose the only thing the police could get me for is unnecessary acceleration. Coz i did accelerate to 30kms in 1st gear until the intersection (10 metres to 30kms) not bad not bad..... So the old man was chasing me after i went past him to u turn of which he ran on road and chased until u turned and parked which he went back on the path way again . The only thing the police could do is.. well send a complaint letter to the register plate owner of the car obviously. but..... i find this man to be a bit senile. My car is not modified, i did not look at that man at all, he was clearly not in any danger until he ran quickly towards my car as i was near passing. The old man had white hair, looks like a grandpa look, european. So so strange, ... i To this day i can not get this strange incident out of my head. So would anyone like to comment on this situation ???? comments blah blah blah Are bmw drivers getting a typical steroe type???

Well i was more looking into the lines of a mechanic which could install a supercharge kit at a cost. I know many web sites over seas with bmw supercharges.. but, you need to get your ecu re chipped.. which relaly means.. well sort of has to be done in the country that you are in, mostly in close vincity again. ^^ i know there is a bmw place close to hamilton but they do more e36 cars .
