Hey guys im wanting to get a Short shift in my e36, any advice on this at all would be greatly appreciated. Is it easy enough to do myself or should i get it professionally done? And what is the best kit to get that wont break the bank? From what i have looked at this kit below is apparently pretty good but where do i get it from? Cheers, Brad

Yea i got mine converted by ray not so long ago. He did an awesome job no sh*t! Soooooo happy to be driving a manual again! Shot ray! haha So yea definitely worth it mate! You'll get a heck of allot more grunt out of ur bmr in manual! And ur street rep goes up hehe

Both my windows when i first purchased my bmr did this.. if i click the button up once it would go up a few inch's then stop and go down like 2cm. if i hold the button down it will go all the way back up without stopping. i just thought this was how bmw windows worked haha. But then one day my passenger window stopped working so i went to ray and got a new motor for it. Went home and chucked it in and now when i press the button once to go down it will go all the way down just like my drivers window, but when i click it once to go up it goes all the way up.... im not complaining cause i actually like it like this now haha but i just thought i would share my strange experience with the windows mechs. I have a 95 Coupe e36

Hey guys, now when i purchased my car it already had an alarm in it. which was a mongoose and so im told its 5 star.. over time it has slowly been getting harder and harder to unlock my car. I have replaced the battery on the remote but every now and again it just wont work. The light on the remote lights up but nothing happens, and i also have to be standing right next to the car for it to work. So for example last nite i left work and ended up standing next to my car for bout 20 mins pressing the button every now and again until it unlocked. What makes it worse is someone tried to break into my car and now when i put my key in the door it jst spins around and around, which i don't really give to shits bout because i have keyless entry (when it feels like working) so i have to unlock it from the passengers side but then the car is still immobilized until i can get the remote to work. Im guessing the lack of range on the remote would have something to do with the aerial for the alarm in the car but god knows where that is? could this also be why my remote dose not want to work sometimes? If i cant figure this out does anyone know of anywhere in Auckland that i could get to sort it for me? Cheers

+1 for the Pioneer, mines got a black face with orange lights, not exactly the same as the dash lights but pretty damn close and looks mint. i also put some little 6" pioneers all round and kept the origional tweeters as they pump! then i got a 1000wat pioneer amp and 2 12inch pioneer subs, this setup can pump hard when u want it but it is also pretty low key from outside. i have the fold down seats in the back 2 so i flip the subs round to face in the car when the seats r down sound is even better.... what im trying to say is dont do a half ass job on it. do it once and do it well. if you dont want loud music then dont crank it to loud but you have the power there to do so and it also helps the re-sale. when i was looking at selling my e36 coupe all potential buyers would ask 1st to hear the sounds hehehe

Hey guys before i finalize getin my beast changed to manual just thought i would check the trans fluid level incase by some crazy chance its just low and i dont need to spend a heck of alot of cash changin it over.... how do i check the fluid level on the tranny?? i honestly have no idea haha chur

Gota get a a manual conversion done 1st tho, hopefully this coming week. The auto tranny shat itself last week hahaha breaks my heart to see my car just sittin in the driveway. i feel sorry for the poor bugger....

Nah his name was Craeg. Drives a nice black e46. PMd you about the offsets n Width. Sorry im not to familiar with how to measure the offsets n stuff, just googled it and followed what came up. Cheers for your all your help guys really appreciated.

haha yea they look pretty bad eh, the other one looks just as bad! and the remaining 2 have only minor nics hea n thea which u cant really see unless u inspect them. Tho seeing as i got them for $200 im pretty happy haha Sweeeet i live close to penrose, ill give them a call on monday. Thanks man

Hey guys i recently purchased some mint lookin e46 19's for my e36. i got a pretty mean deal on them because they are pretty munted by the guy who owned them. 1st question im asking is will these fit on my e36? from what i have found googeling it i should have no problem with the fronts but the backs will not fit? the offset is too much i think it said. will getting my guards flared solve this problem?? 2nd question is does any1 know where i could get a good price on getting them repaired? cheers

Hey nice e36! Im really digin the front kit looks mean! i would defin8ly do the manual conversion... Im in the process of getting mine converted and cant wait! I would also chuck the 328i badge back on but leave the mtech off. mine has one which the previous owner put on there and i feel like such a d*ck for leaving it on but im a lazy ass... but will get round to it sooner or later.

Aite thanks guys, im more considering the manual conversion as its something i wanted to do with the bmr just didnt think it was going to be anytime soon. now i just gota pull the cash out my ass ha.... cheers for the help

Hey guys seems today my bmr has decided to loose all oompf in 3rd gear, not to mention it wont get out of 3rd if i sit with my foot on the pedal it will rev up and redline and then the automatic transmission light comes on.... im not much of a pro with auto's as this is my 1st. any help would be awesome.. Im guessing its the clutch plate but with my luck am prob wrong :s Oh and if any1 has any idea of how much a new clutch plate will set me back that would be pretty choice too... Cheers, Brad

Now i brought 2 new munroe shocks for the front and got some second hand lowering springs for my 325i. seems that the front left side is sitting a few inchs lower then the other. im guessing its from that spring being shot or is there any other reason this could be that i dont know of. as of now my car is sitting roughly 20mm under the legal limit so as you could guess i am wanting to sort this out asap. Im already looking at getting 2 new springs for the front. Chur Just a minor adjustment, i was supposed to of said the front right not the left. chur
