Hey guys, Just got my e36 318is serviced today and apparently both ends has some play and will need to be done before the next wof. Mechanic said it might costs a couple of hundred $$$ Anyone had this done before or know how much roughly to replace or fix? Cheers

Hey guys, First post here...sorry for the noob question and yes I have tried the search button. Just got me a 318iS to start off with...and loving it! First question is, how do you know if you have a M42 or M44 engine? I've read somewhere that 1996 above, its an M44? but apparently BMW started making them mid 1996? Looking forward to knowing everyone here Thanks
