    haha thanx... well, there's a couple in thursday's t&e that i'm gonna call up about [well, actually a friend of mine is coz i hate ringing people for stuff :unsure: ] so we'll see how i go wit those. they're mostly 318i's, 1989/90 in the $4-5k range, auto's [naturally].

    there's one at 128k's, that's got new tyres, regularly serviced an had the cambelt serviced...??

    there's also an ad that goes "BMW 318i '89, facelift, 2dr, auto, cd player, aw, ac, immac condition". so um... what does "facelift" mean? man i so live up to the "girls don't know anything about cars" cliche :(

    oh shux...

    those remind me of those vans that people have that are made to look like animals, y'no usually for business' [but i'm sure there are people who jus like it lke that], like on dumb n dumber. hard out man, those look dangerous, too many sharp bits :blink:

    was talking about my complete lack of patience last nyte [i'd could never keep looking for 9 months, thas forever!] ... this is gonna be hard to do!! whenever i go shopping i always come back with something! maybe i'll hafta get i dunno, little car accessories or something instead... but yea, i realise it's definitely worth it if in terms of getting the best car i can :)

    about possibly getting a damaged one an fixing it... yea heaps about no, considering i would have absolutely no idea of where to start an end up spending way more on it than i probably should...

    in saying that i wouldn't wanna hafta fix it, i'd still want to make it "pretty" :wub:

    also am definitely getting an auto... spend waaaay to much time in traffic to even contemplate driving manual... plus i'm mostly pretty crap at it. so even if i only drove from red beach to orewa everyday i'd still drive auto ;)

    would be choice if someone could come have a look with me sometime, my lack of patience generally equates to impulse buying... :unsure:

    Andrew - saw Mike last night an he thinks it's hilarious that I've talked to you! He thinks I'm gonna turn into this hard out bimmer girl. Yea heaps not likely ;)

    not too fussed bout 2 or 4 door, think i would prefer 4 [i hate having to get in the back of a 2 door car, so i'd feel sorry for people if they had to in my car ^_^ ]. as for working out what i want, all i know for sure is what i said before, plus i know what colour i want [and don't].

    so anyway, let's all remember about how i know this much |----| about cars in general, so can you kinda elaborate on this whole "options" thing?? man i must sound like such the dumb girl... but i'm learning ;) plus can anyone answer the whole "how many is too many?" in terms of km's?

    I suggest you pick up a copy of today's T/E and Autotrader, and work out what you want, and how much you've got to spend!

    so am off to buy the t&e... looking at spending kinda $4000-$6000 coz i wanna pay cash... i don't want to have to pay it off :mellow:

    so... i'm looking at buying a bmw, first bmw, first car in general to be honest [yea so i'm a late bloomer, ain't nothin wrong wit that! B) ].

    am buying it purely based on aesthetics [hope i can spell], not for performance or anything, coz i know about this much |----| about cars :rolleyes: . jus wondering the sort of things i should be looking for when buying one. definitely want a 3 series, auto [spend far too much time in traffic that manuals are ridiculous to drive, plus i'm kinda crap at driving manual anyways (don't laugh)], late 80's to early 90's model [which seems pretty standard round here].

    probably the main thing i'm concerned wit is maintenance etc, because anyone i mention bmw's to kinda freaks out an goes on about how i'll have trouble mechanically wit it an parts are so expensive etc etc and pretty much refuses to talk further there an then... are the problems that people have constant, and due to the age of the vehicle or...??

    also when i'm buying, how many km's max should i be looking for? i mean, is anything under 150,000 ok, or under 120,000 or what?

    anything else i need to know? little help?
