  1. Oh I need to update that. I don't have the Galant anymore My main car is a 220kw atw Legnum vr4 with Brembos, coilovers and almost every other conceivable mod. One needs to go unfortunately as I have way too many cars
  2. Hahahaha Kulgan I'd like to do the same if I don't sell it. You have no idea around here, they would cut the springs, stick that horrible cheap tint on probably compete with air bubbles, throw some 90's reject chrome wheels on it that not even a holden owner would think of using. I seen it happen to a tidy old Merc. I'd probably go a step further than you and fit a RAID steering wheel like the early lambos. I've had this pic saved for a while now. Not that there is any need to modify it, a very nice car as is.
  3. Thanks guys, yeah it's gorgeous, a very elegant car. Hopefully someone gets it who will appreciate it. A couple of Tokoroa's finest were interested but I steered them away from it as I'm pretty sure it would wind up lowered with some horrible wheels and tints. Worth mentioning it will also come with the Bentley manual on CD and it's got it's factory manuals with it as well as service history from the original owner before it was imported.
  4. Very Regrettably I'm selling my 1990 735i SE, it's been an awesome family car and we've enjoyed a lot of very comfortable trips in it but unfortunately I no longer have garage space for it. I've absolutely babied it in the time I've had it and I'll be very sad to see it go. It's in extremely good condition, the engine is gold inside when peeking through the oil filler. Electric seats, electric sunroof and Cruse control. I would prefer sell it to an enthusiast or someone who will take care of it. Best to come and view it if possible, I can take any additional pics if anyone wants anything in particular I'm wanting $2500 firm
  5. Thanks for the replies guys. I haven't had time to check the relays or anything else but I have noticed my new battery was shorting on the bonnet (thankfully no real damage). I sorted that and have been driving it today and it seems fine. Could that have been causing that kind of trouble with the car? I'm not a noob with car electronics, having modified/ changed wiring harnesses, engine types and modified ECUs in my mitsis. I am however new to the ways of the Bimmer and thier tipical german behavior
  6. excuse my ignorance but where are they located? and how do I test them?
  7. I have a big problem with my e30. The other day I was going round a round-a-bout when the car completely died, just like the batery had been disconected. I couldn't even put on the hazard lights and I was stuck in the middle of the road. Sombody stoped to help and as he was getting into position to try jump starting the car I heard the alarm arm itself, all power was back and the car started and run fine. Two days later going to work car completely dies and coasts to a stop. I disconected the battery, re connected it and the car fired right up. this happened three times during the 5km trip. Four hours later going home for lunch. I get 300 meters and it happens again, exept this time error is flashing on the dash, brake light warning light, and oil level warning lights on the overhead display light up. I also seen the 'over heat' light flash a few times. BTW it was reading below half way on the temp gauge. It continued to stop repeatedly on the way home, exept this time the engine would stop but all the dash lights and all power remained. I just turned the ignition off and then on again and the car started fine. Comming up to my house I felt the engine die for a second and then continue running. When running the engine sounds fine. I just checked everything I could think of and all I could find was the alternator belt was a little slack. Basicaly I need at the very least ideas.
  8. Ahh, that's how I filled the manual trans on my galant when I did the manual conversion, I filled it till it overflowed, is there a way of just checking if the diff oil level is still where it's meant to be? My auto does have a dip stick in the engine bay, does the engine need to be hot to check the auto trans oil? or is cold ok too?
  9. As the title suggests, how do I check the diff oil level? and do I have to have the motor at operating temp to check the automatic trans oil? or can it be cold? Sorry I know it's a noob question but I'm new to BMWs
  10. Thanks guys, exactly what I needed to know.
  11. How do I remove the driver's door card? I uncliped all the clips around the trim, couldn't find any screws or anything but it wouldn't budge! I don't want to break anything so I was wondering if anyone around here knows how to remove it. Thanks in advance, Justin
  12. Yes it is ex Japan, got the ownership papers today and it says it was first regestered in 88 in Japan, then imported and I'm the 4th nz owner. It has a BMW branded folder with all the origional sales brochures and manuals even sales recipt in japanese so that explains why It also has a power antena. Hotwire, it gets NZ stations from the 70s to 80s but not 90s. I seen the BMW branded alpine head unit that you show in a car at the wreckers, that's why I thought the sony in mine wasn't origional.
