  1. I recently bought a 135 coupe and when I checked the service history I noted that the HPFP had been replaced around the 4 year mark. Spac is tight in the back but better that you might think, but then I am not sitting there! I'd also buy the warranty even if you get an immaculate car if its not under the factory warranty.
  2. Thanks for the feedback, I have had my car a week now and very happy with the car - a manual would have been nice but I couldn't wait for a manual with only 5 in country. Its a sedona red 2008 and quite an upgrade in performance on my Golf GTI. The Golf was quite nippy and nimble but the 135i is powerful and sounds so much better!
  3. Hi All, I have been looking at retrofitting cruise control to a 2008 E82 135i. Does anybody know where this can be done? Thanks!
  4. I drove the 235i and 135i Step and was happy enough with it that I will be a 135i owner very soon! Thanks for the feedback.
  5. Given that the NZ new manuals are scarce I am going for a 6 speed steptronic, the BMW dealer said that the 8 Spd in the 235i is very similar in shift feel and speed to the 6 Spd in the 135i. It didn't seem too much different to my DSG that it was a massive step down but I'll need to confirm for myself, but providing it is ok I'll buy it. I've a couple of imports and whilst they looked ok superficially, once you got them up on a hoist there were always things not quite right although I have seen some tidy M135's but they are used M3 $$.
  6. How do you get the Alpina firmware flashed to the auto? Thru BMW?
  7. There are a few 123d's with manual but I they just don't sound the same - there's something about the 6 cylinder petrol!
  8. There's a few manual M3's which are close to twice the price of the 135i. Going to see if the auto is as good as I have read.
  9. I have been looking at the 2008/09 E82 model and knew that they were scarce but I didn't realise that there were only 5 manuals bought in. I just missed out on a manual car this week so it could be another 12 months or so before another comes up. A 1M would be nice but still expensive and makes M3's look far better value for money! I might have to reconsider going for a 135i manual and look at an auto model - has anyone driven and compared the two? Also were many DCT versions bought in NZ new?
  10. I have been looking at getting a 135i manual but there are mainly automatics/steptronics available. Out of curiosity, does anyone know how many manuals were bought in to the country as new cars?
  11. I presume that you have the standard speakers? Are you completely happy with the setup now?I am thinking about just going for the BSW from the US and installing it myself as its just under $900 landed. Has anyone else done this?
  12. Thanks for the welcome. I am in Wellington and my X5 is nz new with the standard stereo (labelled BMW Business) so doesn't have the video screen or a sub woofer in the right space. I am pretty happy with the handling given it weighs over 2000kg. Having had several Audi's, I was going to buy a VW Touareg but then the 3.0d BMW came up and I was impressed with it as a package. By copy to isis, you mention that you added an amp and boxed sub. What are the specs on what you built and did the standard deck have line outs?
