Thanks all. Gives me a few options to price up

Thanks for that. You hear the odd horror story with cheap and nasty rotors so wondering if there were any in particular to avoid.

Hi all. My 330i has had the check engine light come up on an enthusiastic drive the other night. No noticable change in performance and I suspect it maybe the same problem as a past code for "fuel trim bank 2, too lean, air leak" I can't see any obvious issues but will err on the side of caution and run the codes. Does anyone know of the options in Hamilton to do so. Carspot is handy to work and want $78 + GST to pull the codes and reset the light. I haven't had anything to do with them before as I'd previously gone to SD European for my former BMW. Does anyone have recommendations? Many thanks

Hi team I've got a E46 330i due for new pads and rotors on the front. Priced up genuine BMW and if you're interested: Pair of pads $253 + GST Wear sensor $62 + GST (for the pair I assume) Rotor $328 + GST each Can anyone recommend any non OEM options that will hold up well and be a cheaper? Not any area I particularly want to skimp on but no doubt there is a "BMW" premium built into OEM, that I'd be happy to avoid. Thanks in advance

I went through the same process. Biggest tell tale I could find was the window trim. Genuine M-Sport ones all have (as far as I found) the shadow chrome, while the non-Msport ones have the normal chrome Just another one to put on the list!

$145 at Betta Motor Works in Whangarei on the E46 330i I bought recently. Very knowledgable, helpful and included a code scan and explanation

Thanks for the responses team. More to think about! In terms of the diversity aerial issue I've had a sniff around and these guys have a theory http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119187 Most of it relates to systems with the factory amp but the guy in the last post sounds like he bypassed it. Anyone tried it or got any views?

Yes thanks hotwire. At this point I'm leaning towards one of these http://www.hyper.co.nz/drive/audio/head-un...d/13967/product Looks to be the most cost effective option as it would otherwise add up by the time I got a replacement BMW CD business unit and a DICE unit. Obviously I'll need a DIN fitting kit but it would hopefully tie in fairly well with the orange lights. Any ideas as to what else would be needed such as wiring loom adapters? Any other feedback appreciated. Many thanks!

Got there in the end thanks. The error message was "invalid photo" rather than "photo too big" so it threw me a bit

Many thanks for the responses. Gives me a bit to ponder

Ah yes, that was the other option but can't quite justify spending that much at the moment. Tempting though!

Hi All I've had a good search around but looking for some input into the best way forward. Currently I have in my E46: 1 - Jap spec BMW Business cassette head unit (that can't be changed to NZ frequencies) 2 - BMW 6 stacker in the boot which is largely stuffed it seems Ideally, I'd like to have something that looks reasonably stock, will play the stereo, the odd CD and will connect to ipod via a charging cable From what I can gather, my options seem to be: 1 - Replace the unit (and probably ditch the stacker) with a newer and working BMW CD and get a DICE unit 2 - Go with an aftermarket headunit with an orange display and run an ipod cable/charger Option 2 is looking cheaper and easier at this stage but wondering if I'm missing anything as everyone seems to rave about the DICE setup. The only other thing is bluetooth, but if I'm running of an ipod charger/cable it doesn't seem to be a major? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the welcome all. Had another crack so all systems go.

Hi All Picked up a 2000 330i M-Sport a couple of weeks ago and loving it! Took a punt and bought it based on photos, a pre-purchase inspection and long winded conversations with a very straight up seller. 600km return trip to pick it up. Done 95k and got it at a pretty good price. Smooth, comfortable but lots of fun! Can't seem to upload a photo, but bog standard so much the same as all the other silver M-Sports. No major plans at this stage other than to do some 100k preventive maintenance as sort out something to deal to the Japanese stereo
