Hi all, on last service my local BMW mechanic in Botany has used Castrol Edge Professional OE-X 5W-30 i have no problem with that, the problem is if i need a top up between services this product is not available to the public (that i can find) every time i need a top up it cost me around $60.00 having to take time of work plus the cost of the oil, so can anyone please help is there an equivalent to Castrol Edge Pro OE-X or is it for sale somewhere in Auckland ?? Hey H, i'm doing the same thing with mine i tried plastidip on the grille looks ok but not 100% so purchased a gloss black one off the bay, should arrive this week so i let know what it's like, also got smoked indicators of TM $50 bucks, wheels i will paint gloss black over xmas as i'm more than happy with m-sport wheels and save some $$$$$

Hey Clinton 30d heaps of power, when in sport mode the change is amazing sound/power etc it really came to life, think it has another sport mode that drops the DSC but not 100% on that as i didn't try it very cool, as for me i'm more than happy with my 323i e90 m-sport starting to get to know the car and i like it alot. I was lucky enough to drive my stepfathers new X5 in the weekend and loved it, the power, comfort, just a real tight package, can't wait till the next time.

No problem at all and iv'e done about 1000k's since in the last 2weeks mostly rural/motorway 80-100+kph, the goodyear fitted are a nice quite tyre and hyper did a really great deal $1300 tints and tyres all up drive in drive away still looking to find a can of tyre repair found a few forums claiming it ruins your tyre's but most think it's ok just need to clean before puncture repair, hyper sell a repair kit for about $150 i think.

Had the same problem with my e90, just purchased and noticed the runflats looked a bit tired with min tread so looked into new tyres, went with goodyear f1 asymmetric 2's non rft, leaving for work one morning tyre pressure warning came on had a dirty big screw in my new tyre, no problem getting the tyre fixed, tyre guy told me if it had of been a rft i'd be looking at a new tyre, so for me a flat is not a common thing these days my last flat tyre was the first in about ten or so years.

It seems it bypasses all that, it pumps air into the system to burn off all the excess gas, the 02 sensors are constantly reading and adjusting.

I disconnected pump last night drove to work today,about 1hr drive in total on open roads checking fuel usage and it stayed the same,performance seemed a little better or maybe it was just in my head sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

It's on for thirty seconds whe the engine is stone cold, it pumps air into the exhaust syytem, it does not require to be there. Remove and throw away. If they work then leave them be.

Ha's a very good mechanic,he just said there's no point spending $$$$ on a part you don't need, ask your mechanic if the part is needed if he say's yes then maybe you should change mechanics

The pumps normally crap out because the EGR valve is faulty. The diaphragm goes in the valve allowing moisture to get into the pump and damaging the bearings. You will need new or 2nd hand parts and I suggest you replace the EGR filter as well. What is the fault with the pump, just noisy or does it not work ?

just noisy and it makes a high pitched sound it feels like a bearing,whats a EGR ? i plan on doing a diy like most things on my car, wheres the best place for parts price wise,how important is it to do,can in leave it till after xmas? need to save money cheers

Hi all emission air pump has died my mechanic reckons not really needed in NZ does anyone run there car with out this or do i need to replace it? my car's a e46 330i m-sport 2000 if that helps.thanks
