  1. Four style 161 BMW OEM allows which were taken from a 2012 NZ New 320D.

Wheels are in good condition apart from the slight curbing shown on the photos.

Tyres are Bridgestone Potenza run flats which haven't had many kms put on them and have a LOT of life left in them.

    225/45/R17 - Bolt pattern 5 x 120 (standard BMW)

Two of the tyres have 5mm of tread left and the other two have 6mm left as shown in the pictures attached.

Can ship anywhere in the country at the buyers expense or can be picked up in either Ashburton or Christchurch (with a few days notice).

Any questions please feel free to ask!

  2. I picked up the latest itteration of the Mr12Volt CarPlay/Android Auto interface earlier in the year for my E90 with CIC iDrive but have since sold the car and never got a chance to install it.

These units are the best on the market as they use the M.O.S.T fibre network for lossless audio. The versions that use the AUX port can't even get close with audio quality.

They are $459 USD with shipping to NZD ($785 NZD). I am asking $500 NZD with free shipping inside of NZ 👍

    Located in Christchurch.

    Any questions please ask!

  3. We took an X3 for a drive yesterday. It was a 2012 20i xDrive with very low kms on the clock. It ran and drove fine, oil looked clear etc and the body was straight. But I was immediately put off when he said that most of his cars (including this one) were singapore imports.

Then I wondered why I thought that way. Are they actually worse than imports from other countries or is it a bit of an old wives tale?

  4. For sale is our E90 BMW 320D. This is a fantastic car in incredible condition. It has been very well cared for its entire life and has to be one of the best examples around. Sold new at Winger BMW in Wellington the car has a fully documented service history (copies are available if requested).

The car has recently had a full paint correction and detail as well as four new Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres which perfectly complement the car. It is incredibly economical to run, especially on longer trips; it returned 4.3l/100km on a recent highway drive.

    Features:

    • BMW CIC iDrive
    • Front and rear parking sensors
    • Heated seats
    • Electric seats with memory
    • Amazing stereo
    • Bluetooth audio streaming
    • Built in hard drive that can store CDs
    • Automatic headlights
    • Automatic wipers
    • Auto dimming rear view mirror
    • Cruise control
    • LUX LED angel eyes
    • Dual sided climate control
    • Almost new LOCKON towbar
    • Fully automatic electric windows
    • Keyless entry

The car has 18,000km of RUC left ready for the next owners and comes with all original manuals as well as two sets of keys.

    Viewings and inspections welcome.

  6. The wife and I are moving back to New Zealand next week. I have been away for over 7 years and she has never lived there.

We will be moving into our place in Christchurch and I was looking at social clubs when I came across the BMW Car Club of New Zealand. Wanted to see here what people's thoughts are on the regional events and if it is worth joining. I could talk shop all day about cars and would be keen to take part in the events etc so wondering what people think.

  7. If you can get your hands on an M-sport body kit I would do it now. As Eagle said above, parts like this are getting expensive and they will only continue in one direction.

A factory manual 528i E39 deserves some love for sure. Full suspension refresh would bring the thing back to life. Every BMW that I have owned that was approaching 20 years was passing WOFs but when the rubber hit the road they drove nothing like the factory car because the suspension was tired. Once refreshed they were like driving a different car and you also will have peace of mind knowing that some guy at VTNZ isn't going to ping you on a bush or mount (thought it will probably be something else with these things!).

If you are a YouTube person and like long, nerdy, detailed videos I HIGHLEY suggest M539 Restorations for inspiration and DIY ideas for everything from interior tidy up to full engine rebuilds.

Edit: post more photos of that beauty and maybe include the VIN!

  8. I'm going to replace my belt tensioner on my 2012 320D with the N47 but I first need the torque spec for the T50 bolt that holds it all in place.

I have a Haynes autofix login which gives me loads of torque specs but annoyingly this particular spec is not listed.

    Does anyone have the number?

On a side note, if anyone has any good resources for this engine please let me know!

  9. Brand new Uniden R7 Radar Detector, only used for one day.

Purchased as a gift for my wife, however, she tried it for one day decided that she doesn't need it.

Comes with hard shell travel case, two mounts, soft pouch etc. Happy to provide receipts and demo it working if needed.

Amazing detector but surplus to requirements!

Pickup in Christchurch - Free shipping in New Zealand!

  10. As the title suggests I am looking for replacement front door trims for my E90. I need trim that has the tweeter grills as I am replacing my base audio system with a totally new one.

The parts I am after are shown in the picture below. Ideally no logo but beggars can't be choosers.

If anyone has any suggestions on where in NZ I could source something like that I am all ears.

Have you considered the oem logic 7 amp and speakers? Has the benefit of oem intergration so equaliser control from the idrive etc

They are semi hard to find but if you can find a set at a local wrecker etc its well worth it. Ive done 2x now that ive paid around $400 for the whole setup and the sound is fantastic.

Jeeze you only paid $400 for the lot? That is tempting!

I will give some parts yards a call and see what they have.

  12. I have a 2012 E90, LCI Sedan with the base audio system which wants upgrading.

I was planning on using a JL Audio amplifier and also a JL Audio FIX 86 which will sort out the audio coming from the base system and get it ready for a bigger system.

That said, as far as I can tell nobody stocks JL Audio in New Zealand and most retailers in the US don't ship out of the US.

Does anyone know where I can get JL Audio from inside New Zealand?

If not, how have others upgraded their base audio systems here in New Zealand. There are lots of threads on other forums but they're all based in the US or UK/Europe etc so the availablility of parts and brands changes the dynamic.

the unit is a NO.5-1  CIC Limcet box.  it connects first via bluetooth and then hands over to the units wifi. yes it does connect via line input but they also add a usb cable and a small microphone on the steering column. when you first start the car the regular CIC sensors and cameras show in the head unit. once you put it in drive it automatically switches to Carplay or android (depending with what you paired). While you are driving you can ask Siri to do anything although the phone can be anywhere including in your pocket. The limcet box can also create a mirror image from your phone to the CIC unit so whatever you do on the phone (including youtube vids) shows up on the CIC. if you want to switch back to the factory CIC just press the menu button for 2 seconds (same with going back to carplay.

when it comes to sound quality , it sounds good to me but i only have the basic BMW audio setup. Total cost was $800 installed. unit connects automatically when i start the car without re-pairing my phone.  If i switch into reverse then the backup camera comes on and carplay resumes when i put it in drive. if you have the premium sound setup then it should sound fantastic. Any audio program's like  pandora, Spotify or sticher will show up on the carplay menu. also Siri can read and send texts along with using the steering column buttons to make calls.

everything is integrated into the steering control buttons.

the unit has worked great for the three months since install. I went back up to audiocity and had them install factory paint coded front and rear parking sensors and rear camera.

update: i bought the cruise control retrofit parts and had them installed by R&D European in Dunedin. that didn't go well, Factory CIC unit has no labels or language now. So next Wednesday I'm going to drive 5 hours up to Christchurch to have Soundworks connect their computer via Eurosurgen in Auckland to recode my CIC and cruise control.

Eurosurgen work outside the box and can do stuff even the dealerships can't. but the catch is they will only remotely work with Soundworks in Christchurch.

Even with the top down i can ask Siri to do things and since there is a small mic on the steering column she hears my commands even with the roof down. all i have to do is say "Siri show me the way home and it shows the map, Siri call home, etc.

I will say its at least 10 times better than the stock CIC unit for usability.

I don't know how it rates to the rest, but if you contact Eurosurgen in Auckland I'm sure they could provide info into what the best retrofit would be.

     Thanks mate! Brilliant reply.

Tossing up whether to go with their sollution or to order my own from BimmerTech and install it myself.

  14. Just purchased an E90 in anticipation for our move back to NZ. It has been some time since I have owned a car or lived in NZ so wanted to get peoples experiences with different insurers.

I have a clean history, am 30 years old and it will just be me listed on the insurance however I want others to be able to drive it if necessary (don't mind if the excess is high in these fringe secnarios as it won't happen often).

on the South Island there is only one audio place i trust  and that is Audiocity.co.nz Christchurch. I've travelled up there twice; first time for apple carplay and NZ updateable maps that integrates with the stock CIC display and this last weekend to install a rear camera and factory code painted parking sensors. Vincent and the crew worked two hours past closing time and didn't charge extra. all work looks like it came from the factory.

Hey mate, I just picked up an E90 with the CIC system and want to get Apple CarPlay fitted.

What system did they fit to yours?
