  1. Very nice work there Cain!

I have already made a turbo manifold for my 2002 touring, but inbetween actually using it and now those headers would go well.... but as an engineer I have to say $2000 is a hefty price tag. For example headers would be around $500 from bimmersports sponsor AL'S MUFFLERS, and they do v. good work also. Then mufflers are $150 a piece at most, i just but a 2.5" single entry twin exit stainless w/ stainless packing all polished for $150.

If you dont get ANY offers and need to sell it, let me know.

It is great to see people with nice parts for 2002's, I just picked up a 20mm rear swaybar of TM for $50 and the guy also sold me brand new mounts for it too....

Do you have any other 2002 parts for sale? Flare kit perhaps? Otherwise I am beating my own out of the metal thats there....

  2. the front bumper was a nightmare, who ever made it didn't follow the curve of the front end of the car, the bumper was pretty much straight, the front bumper needed to be cut and patched up with fibreglass, it took half a day just to fit the front bumper, so lucky my dad knows what he is doing. :D

Yeah, those crazy SA's! I think the idea was that the excess fibreglass was left across the top on purpose to allow for slightly different body shapes e.g. people who have had repaired front end smashes will always have non-factory curves ;)

  3. AH HAH... you are the lady that bought don's other kit.

I have the rear on my car... sold the front to a very ungrateful young man! (hes on this board somewhere, we sent him the sideskirts and I think his flatmates nicked them!)

Kit looks good, only me and you with them in New Zealand!

*Before anyone pipes up, chromes are gone, its got 18" Rays Sebring ITC-X on it now, will post new pics soon*

  4. Hi Abby - I have previously offered you $500 and noticed that your TM auciton did not meet the reserve of $500. I had intended to bid that much bit missed your short auction. If you are keen on my offer, PM or email me and I will get back to you.

  5. Nice manifold, Thinking of doing something similar myself if I go down the route of turboing the m20. Most manufacturer's warranty is void if you heatwrap - increases the liklihood of cracking, however since it's custom shouldn't be any probs.

How thick is the flage to the head and to the turbo?

Yeah, theres mixed opinions about heatwrap, simple answer for me is I can still touch the manifold with the engine running, and it isnt cast so it expands/contracts easily.

The flanges are very solid, probably could go thinner on the head flange. its 12mm 10mm would be fine.

The turbo flange is an off the shelf T3 flange.

  6. really? sh*t im doing engineering and i wouldnt have a clue how to turbo a car! but then again im doing electrical and electronic ....

To Stolen, or anyone else keen -

If you want to do your turbo build right, I can supply engine mounts, turbo manifold, engine rebuild kit for M30 in an E30, I made/imported multiples of everything when I did mine. Can source engine also, I bought mine for $150!

sh*t id be happy with just that engine for now! so how much did it all end up costing you?

    i wouldnt mind that!

    but maybe not that!

    thanks!

Dude im doing electrical and electronic, an engineers an engineer!

OK my primary interest is mechanical, Im doing computer systems for the money :)

It cost me about 2 grand and countless hours all up, thats with a brand new $1100 turbo. Did my work experience for a legendary engineer over here on the shore, got to do all my fabrication there and I still do.

  7. it doesnt make economic sense to do much more to my engine even though i want to (not much i can doreally on my budget) being at uni and all.....

Mate, you must be in the wrong course then, I built my M30 turbo from 1st to 2nd year engineering.. thanks work experience!

Stock 200HP engine + 50% turbo increase (more or less depending how many bar you run) = good fun (Enough fun to tear LSD input shaft bearings to bits!):mosh:

    Happy to help! :bounce:

Hah and about the work in progress - thats the nature of car modifications!

  8. Yeah go the Fiats!!

There is a 128 SL coupe on trade me at the mo.

130hp (so he claims) and these things only weigh around 800kgs.

Yeah we saw that one too... pity it looks rather dated!

The truth is you dont need 130 hp to move in these cars.... the 4 door weighs closer to 700 kgs its all function in there none of this interior filling crap (except for our race seats)... huge boot for a little car too get a welder and an air compressor in there together, still with space for a couple of farm animals.... er whatever you like! :)

  9. looking forward to this one?

how goes the m30 now? got that ECU in?

Yes this one will be a comprehensive test for the ECU

Circuit boards off for production on monday!

The M30 is still as normal, but has some 18" rays engineering sebring ITC-X wheels on it now!

A new 3.5 M30 block is sitting next to the car waiting to go in... they have stronger block ribbing than my 3.3 block.. then we try for 1000 horsepower.

  10. what sorta money are you chasing???

    cher

Will sell now for $3200, but if you come and twist my arm we could knock off a couple of hundred.... you wont find one in better body condition in NZ unless its in a museum as fiats are notorious for rust! The only other people I know with these cars use them for track racing.
