About Me
Name's Bruno, im 19 and I'm on my third BMW and hopefully wont have to find another any time soon. Started out when I was bought an e30 1.8 coupe manual at 16 and then, without realizing what a gem I had, rolled it in the wop wops out near Hampton Downs. After that I grabbed an Alpha 33 1.5 which some guy in a mid life crisis had put mags, massive Alpha decals and a big bore on. Jammed that in third gear and scrapped it. It was fun while it lasted!
Next came a 190e Merc. 2.3L so it was nice an powerful, but an auto and a really irritating habit of stalling and never being the temperature you would want. Also the heater wouldn't even blow so no de-mist on cold mornings. Got bored and bought myself another e30, this time an auto because I was on a smaller budget. That turned out to have the worst suspension ever fitted to a BMW... Bump steers like a pig. I've still got this even though I hardly ever drive it. The merc I have just scrapped after trying to WOF it and finding I may as well leave it in the street with the keys in it.
Just a few weeks ago I went on a mental trip to Wellington to pick up a $900 1982 525i. Didn't have any clue whether or not it would make it back to Auckland but took the night bus down and drove it back the next day. The body and interior are amazing, just need to touch up the electrics. Weirdly on the way up it was the clutch that let go just north of Wanganui, so the rest of the journey was filled with grinding and swearing. This massive old beast made it the whole way on one tank though, and north of Welly I was hitting 120Mph AND went the long way through Wanganui. I'm in love and I want to share my e28's beauty with the world, so here's a quick pic!
