Cheers for the Reply's guys, going to hold off on the bulbs for the moment , If just one was flickering then I would have presumed an on the way out bulb but both of them flickering together at the same time suggests something else going on somewhere.
I would go buy a new ballast, make sure it is an AC ballast as that will delivery a continuous current as opposed to the DC. Make sure you get the right wattage.

Previous owner off car told me that, but cant rely on everything that is said. Will go check it out anyway

thrust arm bushes, very common e 34 problem esp those with bigger wheels than std. Some say bushes from the e34 m5 or 750(e32) are better (more durable) than stock.I cant remember wether its the upper or lower arms and there is also a school of thougt about the exact tightening procedure. All the e34 forums will have detailed procedures
Okay sweet as, will replace them and let you know how it goes

Noticing quite a viscious wobble around the 90 onwards mark, not a wheel balance issue as i have already done a balance on it, not a tyre issue as i have just replaced those too and also checked for a bent rim. Also replaced the front discs, front pads & rear pads (rear discs are not warped) I am trying to diagnose the problem so I can fix it asap, any help please.

Did you buy a DC ballast rather than a AC one? those are unstable and cause flicker, Or your grounding which was a problem i had with mine.
-
Yeah apparently it is a loose ring around the steering wheel, does anyone have a reset tool i could borrow or bring my car just to reset the actual bulb

Hi there, I have a problem with my airbag light as soon as i start car it will stay on for around 30 seconds then goes off, but i need to pass a warrant and it will fail, can someone please help me!!

Cheers! might try an oil change and do 10W50 and add some lifter cleaner and let it idle for a while
-
whoops sorry too many calc's late at night do that to the brain, you are right they are hydraulic- I was thinking M20.
There is a very slim chance that they are sticking, otherwise the only real fix is replacement lifters. Years ago on an M40 I had mine go within a matter of weeks also. In saying all of that, I hear good things about MBL8 additive from Mitsubishi for quietening noise lifters.
Thicker oil should technically help but I never found that it did
Okay, thanks heaps for that, ill try that out what kind of viscosity should i be using? i think at the moment im running on 10w40
-
Ah, adjust them to spec first? They arent hydraulic so shouldnt be affected by viscosity
It is a M50 vanos engine, you sure they aint hydraulic?
-
I have noticed in the past weeks that tappets are starting to get noisy and go to the rpm of the engine, i was just wondering if switching to thinner or thicker oil would be good for it?, i used castrol GTX modern engine oil.
PLEASE HELP
